We tried Addie Mae's this past week, and were pleasantly surprised by the informal but comfortable atmosphere and very friendly service. We sat in the back, where there is a very nice greenhouse enclosed eating room - very bright. We were not that impressed with the food. The gumbo was good, but the shrimp was a bit mushy. I had the catfish, which was nicely seasoned, and also good, but not great. The collard greens were overcooked and soggy. Cornbread, a favorite of mine, was good but, again, not as good as others I have had. I would classify the food as a bit better than average, but not very good - while it has a great menu, more attention should be paid to the quality of the dishes.
