Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: A historic cinema in downtown Port Townsend, with the best in current film, cult flicks and classics. The auditorium and facade feature gorgeous details from the Rose's day as a vaudeville house, dating back to 1907. With delicious popcorn, plus beer and wine and and a beautiful collection of film photos, the Rose is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Like no other small town theatre you've seen. Worth a visit even if you're not going to a movie!

Old-time theater with two screens on the ground floor, and a recently opened Starlight room on the third floor above the Silverwater Restaurant. Seats about 45 with couches and armchairs, with finger food from the Silverwater and libations available before you enter. Most comfortable space to see a movie, but buy tickets well in advance and arrive early to get the best seating. Kudos to Rocky for his persistence in finally obtaining this space.

Always enjoy the friendly service and atmosphere at the Rose, and they have up to date movies in an old traditional setting.

The Rose is a genuine experience. Where else can you get a live person introducing the theater presentation for the evening? Enjoy a piece of history as you watch newly released films. Although we travel to many different places, we think our local theater is something extraordinarily special.

the rose is the total package. rocky is such a great selector of intelligent films for our community. such a mix - always thoughtful. on top of mainstream, small indie & documentaries, the rose also boasts nt live (national theatre of london), ballet (this season the bolshoi), symphony & metropolitan opera productions. AND the BEST popcorn.

The Rose is a great old theater that fits well with PT's Victorian setting. They have 2 screens, always showing new releases and sometimes broadcast live operas from NYC, as well as indie films. It's home to the annual PT Film Festival in September, and recently opened an intimate "21 and older" viewing room upstairs that offers restaurant-quality food and cocktails along with cushy chairs while you watch the movie.

Mondays are raffle nights, so save your ticket stub and you may win free tickets or popcorn. BTW: they have over 20 toppings for your popcorn. Yum!
