Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: A historic cinema in downtown Port Townsend, with the best in current film, cult flicks and classics. The auditorium and facade feature gorgeous details from the Rose's day as a vaudeville house, dating back to 1907. With delicious popcorn, plus beer and wine and and a beautiful collection of film photos, the Rose is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Like no other small town theatre you've seen. Worth a visit even if you're not going to a movie!

“Nice theatre”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

Good theatre, OK seats, popcorn with real butter instead of that oil glop you get a chain theatres. Jolly good, all in all.

“Charming small town cinema experience...”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Seeing a film at the Rose is like stepping into a time warp, like nothing I've ever experienced. The charming digital offerings on two screens include first run features as well as late night single showings of classics. The Rose also shows HD opera and HDLive theatre performances. The films are introduced by staff and often include insights and information relevant to local Port Townsend artists and authors.

“Awesome!”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

A beautifully refurbished movie theater from yesteryear! Great popcorn and friendly staff too! We saw The Butler here! Oscars all around for their performance. We bought tickets in advance online, was a great idea! It is small and it was full!

Full of character, saw "The Butler" here and were not disappointed in any way. Wonderful talk before the showing, and great snacks.

“wonderful historic building!”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

My wife and I saw a fantastic movie, and then took a mini-tour of the second, larger theater space. What a beautiful place! There was a live "curtain speech" before the film, and the speaker was clearly interested in film and film-making. A must-visit!
