Owner description: A historic cinema in downtown Port Townsend, with the best in current film, cult flicks and classics. The auditorium and facade feature gorgeous details from the Rose's day as a vaudeville house, dating back to 1907. With delicious popcorn, plus beer and wine and and a beautiful collection of film photos, the Rose is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Like no other small town theatre you've seen. Worth a visit even if you're not going to a movie!

While on our second trip to Port Townsend we decided to go to a movie with our granddaughters. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were glad we did it. A real throwback to the way things were!! A classic... Not to be missed. We saw a delightful show "The Way Way Back" and would recommend it but especially on a wonderful setting like the Rose Theatre.

I'll echo what many other reviewers have said about this wonderful theatre and add a bit more:
-the theatre only sits 83 (or so the sign says) so popular movies likely sell-out.
-the patrons are mostly locals who respect the quiet sanctity of a movie theatre. Much appreciated!!
-Dolby sound and crisp digital screenings make the movie watching experience wonderful
-cost was $9 per movie on a Wed night

Beautiful historic theater right in downtown. Each film is introduced with a story of how the film was made, or why the director chose the lead actor, etc. Fabulous popcorn. Rocky the owner has nice taste, show mostly independent films. Might be your most-memorable movie-going experience. I've seen films there for years.

Until you have experienced one of the excellent movie choices at the Rose, you have not done PT....not to mention the fabulous popcorn with real butter.
