Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: A historic cinema in downtown Port Townsend, with the best in current film, cult flicks and classics. The auditorium and facade feature gorgeous details from the Rose's day as a vaudeville house, dating back to 1907. With delicious popcorn, plus beer and wine and and a beautiful collection of film photos, the Rose is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Like no other small town theatre you've seen. Worth a visit even if you're not going to a movie!

Oh the concession stand ...nostalgia and noshes...a marriage of equals. This is not your soul-less 35 monster multiplex...cranking out greasy popcorn and car crash flicks. A place that dreams are made of to watch the best films of the day. These folks know and love movies and it is the best place in the country to watch movies.

“Old time charm all it's own.”

I love old theaters, the heavy wood doors, brass and red velvet seats, the smell of buttery popcorn! And it's right around the corner from the Palace Hotel.

“Ballet, Opera, First rate movies , lectures, concerts and more!”

Rocky at the "Rose Theatre" brings us fabulous experiences we could only enjoy in New York or London, or perhaps someitmes Seattle! So far this year we've been thrilled by HDLive from the NY Met: "Aida" and "Sleeping Beauty" from London's Royal Ballet. The Rose is also a participant of the annual PT Film Festival every September.....

“A Wonderful historic theatre”

Everytime we are in Port Townsend we make sure to catch a show here. Not too many of these beautiful old theatres left. Make sure to grab some popcorn, too. It is delicious!
