“MUST GO place to go for music, dancing , and food and drinks.”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

This is THE spot in P T for music ...very famous , and well known for all styles of music from all over the world . They have live music almost 7 days / week ! Live classical , jazz, rock, blues , indie , country, irish , etc...top quality groups . Cover charges usually.

Nice clean place with good food and good wine , beer/ale , cocktails. Nice crowd of people. This is a great , safe place to go . Mostly middle aged /middle of the road crowd. Can pull movie stars at times !

Service is good until they really get slammed ...which is about 8 pm . The owner is very friendly and is usually there and greets people as they come in the door

They can booked solid with no seating , and then they can't keep up , just like any other restaurant or club . You can reserve a table ... and you should.

Hard to find ...hidden just off Water(main) street...in the back. Parking is tough in that area ...really good restaurants and the Rose Theatre is there too. Tyler street . And yes there is a Taylor street one block over ! "what did you say ? Was it Taylor or Tyler ?!" ...its ok ...very small town !

“Decent food, terrible service”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

It took four requests for me to get my order taken. I had to get my own menu despite repeated requests. The service was, shall we say, casual and fairly unfriendly. Most of the diners who arrived after I did were waited on before I was. Perhaps they just don't want single women in the restaurant? The food was adequate. I had the crab cakes which were overly breaded and a special bread side that was old and overdone. All in all, this is not a restaurant I want to dine in again.

“Great music and drinks, dinner if you want it”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We enjoy an evening here of great music, drinks and food. Their venue is the first thing I check when the newspaper arrives. The blues, the jazz, the global music, the rock and roll, the Zydeco. And a great dance floor. This is the jewel of Port Townsnd to us. We often order the pizza and salad special, and dance the night away.

“Best Club in Town!”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

In a town filled with artists, musicians, and beautiful scenery, the Upstage is the preeminent place to spend an evening.
This intimate restaurant and nightclub features great food and amazing entertainment. Acts range from jazz to blues to world music. Mark (the owner) features nationally known performers such as Maria Muldaur and Curtis Selgado as well as our fabulous local bands. It is an intimate venue so everyone can be close to the band. And, unless the place is too packed with an overflow audience, the dance floor can't be beat. As a local, I can't recommend this place highly enough!

“Friend staff, great fun”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

This small restaurant has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and very good food. The service was wonderful despite the fact that I visited it during the local jazz festival and it is one of the main club venues.
