We were recently (Aug 2013) in Port Townsend, passing through on a motorcycle trip. We had seen a sign advertising the restaurant on our way into town. By the time we had checked into our hotel, it was getting fairly late. When we arrived at the Muskan it was close to 9.30pm. We asked the gentleman standing by the door if they were still open? He said they were & we were shown to a table. We ordered our food & some beers. The food was awesome! Probably some of the best East Indian food we've had in North America. We were in there until approx. 11.30pm, chatting with the very friendly staff. It was at that point we found out that they usually close at 9.30pm! Big Thanks to all the staff of the Muskan for staying late just for us & making it such an enjoyable evening. We would definitely recommend :)

We drove from Seattle on a sunny Tuesday in July to have lunch with family in Pt Townsend. They suggested Muskan because they enjoyed the buffet lunch and there were booths to accommodate the six of us. When we arrived, a new temporary barricade had fenced off the parking lot in front of the restaurant to provide outside seating, but it made it difficult to find a way to the front door. It was a beautiful day and we were surprised that nobody was sitting in this outside area. When we entered the restaurant, there were no other diners inside the restaurant either. Our relatives noticed right away that all the booths had been removed and there was no longer a buffet. We squeezed two additional chairs to a table set for 4 persons. I tried three chairs before I found one that did not wobble. The restaurant staff was very laid back and not particularly welcoming to us. My vegetable curry ($8.95) tasted like one cup of previously frozen mixed vegetables that were rubbery and soggy with a prepared sauce poured over it. (Entrees are served with rice.) The others in our group chose chicken curry at $9.95. The naan bread ($2.25) from their clay oven was the best part of the meal and the only reason I rated this restaurant poor rather than terrible. The service was non-existent. The waiter had his jacket on. He came to the table and asked what we wanted to eat, wrote it down, read it back and disappeared until he returned with plates of food. He stood in the same spot where he had taken our order and handed each plate to me and expected that I would pass the dish around to the proper person. Again, we were the only diners in the restaurant so he was not overworked! Our water glasses were never refilled during our meal. There was no music, nor dancers as mentioned in other reviews of this restaurant... Just overpriced sub-par food and uninspired service. I'll not return for another meal, but I'd be surprised if they are still in business through the winter.

we were in sequim and went on a 30min drive to this place as it was the.only indian restaurant in the area. as we are pure veg we ordered rotis and curries.20min after our order we were informed there were no rotis. thankfully all curries were served with rice.all the time we had to bear deafening music and scantily clad pseudo indian dancers. as we had little children with.us we requested a change of table and went to a side room.when the food arrived we were in.for a surprise.. palak paneer was out of the world and so was aloo zeera. bharta was passable but raita was good. the rest of the food was satisfactory. ifyou want indian food a good place but if you are with family and kids select your table.

everything was very good that we tried. The owners gave us suggestions and we took them and had a wonderful experience with tastes and textures. The Aladdin Hotel recommended them and we were not disappointed.

We were in Port Townsend for a week in late May, and found Muskan thanks to a brochure left in our inn. We love Indian food, and make it at home a lot too, so we checked it out. Pretty spot inside (don't be deterred by the semi-industrial area or the strip mall it's in, just off the main street through town), friendly but not over-the-top service, and everything we had was really tasty. The prices were reasonable, and especially so considering that we took home enough to give us both another meal the next night!
