We always ask locals where they eat. Was sent here by a gentleman the nite before. We love breakfast, good homecooking, don't need all the flowers, fancy cheeses, etc. Just good food.
The big guy had corned beef hash, nicely cooked redskin potatoes with big hunks of real corned beef, not canned stuff, just the right amount of onions and alittle green pepper. Huge portion, easily could have fed he and our large son.
I opted for 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, again, nicely done, big biscuit with actual chunks of Jimmy Dean sausage in it. Again nice portion. Also, tried the french toast, loved it. Made with brioche bread, made there, Served with honey pecan butter.
Watched large plates of food pass by and observed the largest bagel sandwich be destroyed at the next table
This is a small working class cafe, With a couple of tables outside, workers coming in and out for coffee. It wouldn't appeal to the "snobs" out there, but its a great little find with really good food for a small price
We enjoyed watching the staff move like a well oiled machine taking orders, cooking washing dishes, stocking, restocking. Our server Becky was a delight.
