The fort is set on the North side of the lovely town. The major buildings are well kept and takes you back to a time long gone. There is a interesting history museum with items of the sea service and military of the time the fort was operational. The fort was pard of a triangle of forts that protected the entrance to the Puget Sound at the turn of the last century. Also, it is the site of the film "Officer and a Gentleman". This fact is underplayed at the museum, but they have directions to the other local fimming locations. The parade deck is the first location that jumps out at you. The views from the bluffs into Canada and across the Sound are worth the short hike. Even has a Lighthouse. It is a must see if you are in town.
