I walked in not knowing what to expect. I love Ruebens and ordered one. Much to my delight, it was like getting one in Chicago! Delicious! I shall try them for breakfast now. Oh, they were also "jamming" if that is any indication of anything.

Fabulous family run bakery/cafe/restaurant. Down home cooking, generous sandwiches, fabulous baked goods (especially the pies!). This is a convenient spot for all folks visiting downtown Port Townsend. Love it!

Great coffee. Fresh bakery. Will and his wife make it a nice way to ease into the day. Very good lunch as well. Front patio for a nice day. In the summer great back area for lunch. Sometimes they have concerts back there. The kind of place you want to support.

It's pretty basic fare: Sandwiches, soups and salads, with lots of cookies and pies for desserts. Yet somehow it's all better than basic. They do an amazing job of elevating the ordinary with little touches like herbed mayonaise, huge slices of homemade bread, their own twists on classics. I have only had one bad thing here (the beer cheddar soup was too thick, cloying and salty) but I have never had a better sandwich. And the pie... oh, the pie! I love how they go beyond the regular choices to creative items like chocolate-bottomed banana cream, coconut custard, peach-marionberry or the amazing german chocolate pecan pie.

It's true that service can be slow-ish, since there is usually a small staff who takes orders, works the register and sandwich bar. But that is half the fun - you get a small town experience and actually get to chat with the waiter/barista/chef/baker/sandwich maker/chief bottle washer! When we were there, we watched him slice off thick wedges of bread from a fresh loaf - per sandwich! Yeah, it takes a little longer, but man, that bread was good!

The best cinnamon rolls in the world! A small cafe with baked goods, soups, sandwiches, and salads. Great for a quick coffee and muffin, or a half sandwich and soups. Locally owned and run by friendly folks. Highly recommended!
