Quaint, quiet, and wonderful. The hosts are gracious and very friendly. The room was quiet and cozy with a view over the city to the Capitol Building. The breakfast was superb, all three courses. The common sitting room was spacious and comfortable for a visit with the other guests. This is definitely a stopover for our next trip through Olympia.

Run by friendly young couple Nathan and Casey, the Swantown Inn offered us a welcome respite from the stresses of a long trip and a number of missed flight connections on our way to a conference. The couple were welcoming hosts, resourceful tour guides, and even made themselves silent and invisible when we just wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet. Our experience at the inn definitely reflected the couple's eye for detail and their care and respect for their guests.

The Columbia Room in which we stayed was absolutely gorgeous, lacking only that uncomfortable sterility that you can find elsewhere. Our overnight stay was far too brief, but thankfully we did have time to enjoy the decadent breakfast before leaving to continue our travels.

The Swantown Inn is a truly authentic Victorian house. We stayed in the Columbia Room which has sole access to the lovely Victorian bathroom (fixtures from a bathroom that was originally downstairs.) The bedroom was large and nicely furnished. A CD player with both soothing and seasonal CD's was provided for a relaxing atmosphere. The robes were luxurious and very welcome since the bathroom was across the hall, but we really felt that our end of the hall was quite private.
The bed was comfortable, with soft sheets and a cozy comforter which was very welcome as the nights were cool. The night was very quiet and free from street noises. The rooms themselves were also apparently quite soundproof since we could not hear our neighbors even though we knew they were in.
Breakfast was very good including conversation with Casey and Nathan. The two mornings we stayed we had a different kind of warm scone, and a fruit dish (bananas royale and then poached pears). Saturday we were served a fantastic french toast filled with cream cheese and raspberry filling, Sunday we had what Nathan called a Thyme Egg Bake, but I thought of more as a frittata with lots of thyme and potatoes, served with sausage. The only suggestion I might make would be that they invest in something that would provide hot water so that we could have a cup of tea or cocoa any time, such as with a cookie in the evening.
There is a great book in each room that Casey has put together that provides not only information about the Inn and how to operate all of the bathroom fixtures, alarm clock, CD player, etc., but also has restaurant information and ideas on places to go and things to do. They are also very good at giving recommendations. We were delighted with every suggestion they gave us.
We would definitely recommend this inn.

The second time round was just as magical. That wonderful house and it's fittings transported us back in time once again. Wonderful hosts full of information and advise on places to visit and eat. Not to mention their great breakfasts. As an overseas traveller the restful surrounds were just what we needed. Coming again? You bet.

This was only my second bed and breakfast and if all of them have breakfasts as interesting and tasty as Casey's were I cannot wait to find more to stay at!

We had the opportunity to stay at Swantown Inn in February. It is a beautiful old home. The Innkeepers are new and willing to please. They were friendly and welcoming. It's a great, quiet, romantic getaway. I highly reccomend the Astoria Room - worth the extra few dollars. Driving up, you're taken by surprise - they are in the middle of a fairly residential neighborhood - but once you are up the driveway, you're transported to a different time and place. Well worth it and we will definitely return!
