The park had a lot more to offer before the bridge to the other side washed out. Now it's lacking. Still a couple cool caves but not for young kids.

A nice park and a great place to walk or have a picnic. We visited on a Friday just to see what it was like and the trees combined with the trails made for a very nice afternoon out. Bring a picnic basket and give it a try.

This is a green and lush park full of hilly trails. Beautiful big old growth trees are all over. There is a big play ground for kids and an easy walk down to the bay beach. Lots of picnic areas and bathrooms. The beautiful north west forest is the main attraction for this huge park. Trails can be muddy and slippery and some are kind of steep. Some nice viewing areas of the water and sitting benches along the trails. Enjoy!

There are many facilities in the park but I can only to speak to the hiking opportunities, which are many and wonderful. In just minutes from downtown you can be walking through old growth forest at the edge of a secluded salt water beach or passing mysterious madrona trees clinging to the high banks overlooking the bay. Easy way to get your mountain or beach fix without the 1 1/2 hour drive!

There are moderate elevation changes as you move away from the water but the trails are usually in good condition.

Would rate it at "5" but feel there is not enough park employee presence and have frequently found visitor mischief occurring.

You can hike up to two hours here, walk on the beach and under old growth, and see eagles and ospreys.
