Our son gave us a gift card to Outback for Christmas. We just found time to get over and use it last night. My wife had the sirloin, I had the petite filet mignon. Both were delivered cooked as we ordered them. Both were tender and flavorful, without being excessively fatty. Does "just right" fit? We think so. We both had the baked potato, done perfectly with fresh butter for the topping. My wife had the vegetable medley, I had the side salad.
Since both meals were more than we typically eat in quantity, it seems to say something that both plates were empty before we were done! The fresh baked dark bread was excellent, and while I'm not much of a beer drinker, it was a warm evening and the Michelob topped the meal nicely.
Service was very good, but we were admittedly past the normal dinner hour, arriving around 7:30 PM. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing, and brought us a smile as well, always a good thing.
The value was good, with meals beyond what we might typically order, and the $40 gift card covered all but a small addition for a nicely earned tip.
The only downside was one of the forks at my setting had some vegetable matter stuck to it, but that was very quickly taken care of.
Yep, next time we have a hankering for a good steak, Outback in Olympia will be on our go to list.
