“This is a dam that destroyed the Deschutes Estuary”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

The dam is very harmful to Olympia and Budd Inlet. The sidewalk in front of the dam is narrow and dangerous.

This dam needs to be removed and Deschutes Estuary restored.

“Great place to view salmon and wildlife”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

This is a great place to see the salmon run (there are hundreds of large salmon!) and the associated seals diving for salmon, blue heron and other critters. It is a great view of the area.

“Nice place, a bit difficult to walk to.”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

Having reviewed the design and construction of this bridge, I am a bit partial to it as a structure. The design does incorporate some nice pedestrian features, including widened sidewalks, night lighting that complements the bridge and the river, and some nice architectural features. However, it is a several block walk to get to it from any direction, and Western Washington weather makes that a bit less desirable many days.

“What's to see?”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

I drive this bridge regularly and really haven't noticed anything of interest. It's a nice bridge in that it gets me from downtown to the west side.
