“A beautiful place to walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

This wildlife refuge has only been open for about a year now and is a great place to see all forms of wildlife...but particularly waterfowl. There are literally miles of new elevated walkways surrounding the refuge and allowing visitors to walk above the tidal wetlands.

“Fun little stroll”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

They have recently done a lot of work to this area. every now and then they have presentations on the different wildlife which is fun. The boardwalks are pretty expansive and takes you through the refuge to see all the ducks.

“Nice place for a hike”

My wife and i loved it because we like long walks. It will be different every time because it depends on the tides, but I'd definitely go back again. It was beautiful.

“Love it!”

Best place to view nature in the area. Always a hit with out of town visitors - great place to get some exercise. Even in pouring rain!

“Contemplative walk or bird watching”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

Just off the freeway but you feel you are far away from civilization. Wheelchair friendly. Walk 5 miles or a quarter of a mile. Sit on a bench and observe the birds and wildlife on the Nisqually River. Hike further and look out over Puget Sound.
