Please believe all of the positive reviews you read about this wonderful restaurant because, in our experience, they are all very true. We were in Ocean Shores on vacation in the middle of September, 2011 for our first visit to the area. In doing my online research to choose activities and restaurants for our trip, this restaurant caught my eye. I'm Irish and I've been to Galway Bay in Ireland so it was exciting to find a place stateside to help relive the experience. Our first dinner was on a Tuesday evening around 8:00. There were no other cars in the parking lot so we weren't sure if the restaurant was open but we decided to take a chance and are very glad we did. When we walked in, we were greated so warmly by our server (Stephan - sorry if this spelled incorrectly!) we immediately knew we made the right choice. All of the other employees and the owner (who happened to be there that night) made us feel so comfortable and welcome, it was a great experience. All of the food we ordered which included steamed clams, the salt hill salad, beef in guiness, corned beef sandwich (sub in the Dubliner white cheddar for the swiss, you won't be sorry!) and naturally the amazing bread pudding for dessert was wonderful, tasty and fresh! The Irish Soda bread also served to us was delicious and the leftover part of the loaf made for a great breakfast treat the next couple of mornings. We thought we were going to try other restaurants in town on our remaining 2 nights but we kept getting drawn back into the Galway Pub and each meal was just as wonderful as the first. We may have missed out on other gems in town but we feel we really found the right dinner place for us! We will be back.

I have eaten at the Galway Bay Irish Pub on my annual vacation in Ocean Shores since it opened nearly 20 years ago. Their clam chowder used to be the best in Washington state. On my last visit, the entire recipe had changed and we could tell just by looking at it. Not only did we have to look closely to find any clams, but the chowder was incredibly salty, and the solids were not potatoes, but lumps of the thickening agent. We also ordered the 3-piece fish and chips. One piece of fish was burnt, one was OK, and one was undercooked - out of the same order?!? We also questioned the freshness of the fish. The fries were hand-cut and pretty good.

The atmosphere of the pub is great - you feel like you are in a pub in Ireland, but because of the poor quality of the food, we will not eat there again.

Saturday evening at the pub. Every table was full and the place was busy. Live Irish music was great to listen to and the staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is fun and eclectic. Oh yeah, the food was great too! We will definately be back!

So my husband wanted to try something different other than the regular burgers, pizza, ect. So we thought we’d try the Galway Bay Irish Pub. We pulled in and it looked like it might be closed but we checked the doors and fortunately they were open! The ambiance of the place was great! For starters they brought us some of their freshly baked soda bread and we also ordered the cheese course. Both were so good, especially the Dubliner White Cheddar! I had the corned beef sandwich which was very tasty and my husband had the Shepherd’s Pie in which he enjoyed as well. However even though everything we ate so far was above par and very delicious the best was yet to come…the dessert! We ordered the Bread Pudding which was drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with whip cream! Let me just tell you, it was heavenly! It was so good that we talked about it several times while on our way home! It’s a large portion so there is definitely enough for 2 people. We will come back to eat here every time we visit Ocean Shores! The service was great as well! We highly recommend this place!
