Quinault Beach Resort and Casino
Ranked #8 of 14 Hotels in Ocean Shores
Reviewed September 22, 2013

I stayed 2 nights at the Quinault Beach Resort & Casino to attend a 2-day series of meetings there and at the Ocean Shores Convention Center.

Every staff member was friendly and courteous. I don't even gamble, but the option was there is a comfortable atmosphere, without too much cigarette smoke - good ventilation. There was a place to eat or snack in several locations and the food was very good. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and well arranged. The beach was very available and the view of the ocean soothing. It was one of the most comfortable hotel stays we've ever had.

We stayed here over night. The room was ok but needs refurbishing, badly. The casino is very smokey. Buffet was average at best. What sells this is the ocean views. What was puzzling was the number of road vehicles using the beach as a roadway, at all hours. I had read some of the reviews that described the beach as private. We saw it more as a secondary highway, so stayed off of it ;-(. Don't think this is the fault of the Lodge, but should be stopped before some pedestrian gets injured.
Bed was so, so. Bathroom had a shower. Keurig coffee maker in the room. And eateries are very limited.

After many years of going here, the casino and hotel has dwindled to nothing. Poor service only catering to the needs of the locals. Long wait times to eat at empty restaurants with servers that obviously hate there jobs. Poor kept rooms that need updating and better cleaning. Hotel needs a serious update with employee moral and updates to the hotel. Wouldn't stay here again even if my room was free, don't waste your money or time. Employee/staff don't care to hear what you have to say or want to do anything to assist in your needs. Sad to see a good location turn to crap.

After 10+ years of living in Ocean Shores, we haven't grown tired of the casino, Emily's Restaurant or views of the Ocean. Machines are updated frequently, the casino is open 24 hours on the weekend. This casino honors other casino coupons with some restrictions! Staff is always welcoming and friendly. Our complaint is the desperate need for a non-smoking area. Even with high ceilings and exhaust fans(?) by 11am the smoke becomes overwhelming.

We stayed at the Quinault because we were visiting family in Ocean Shores and another family member was also staying at the Quinault. We were there for three nights.

Even though we did not have a beach view, we loved our room. We had an accessible room on the 4th floor; there are no 1st floor rooms. The bathroom had plenty of grab bars. However, there was a bathtub and it was standard height. There was a shower/bathtub seat available.

We had a king bed and it was very comfy. There was a chair/ottoman and two straight-back chairs, a desk, and an end table/lamp. There was even a Keurig coffee-maker. One of the windows could be partially opened from the bottom (would be safe for children) so we could get some fine Ocean Shores breezes.

We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights here. Beautiful views of the ocean. The room was large with a nice fireplace, HUGE TV, and it was very clean. Water pressure was ok, but the soaps were wonderful (wish the sink lighting was better, not great for putting on makeup). The spa was also very nice and my husband & I said we both received the best massages that we had gotten in a very long time. The service was excellent - every one of the staff was friendly and helpful. Needs to be updated in public areas - carpets are old and stained, walls are a bit banged up. Casino is small but nice.

I was more than happy with our two night stay here. The room was large, offered a clear view of the ocean and some comfortable furniture near the window to enjoy it, was quiet, nicely furnished, had a gas fireplace, and was very clean. Lighting, a pet peeve of mine, was just fine. The cable TV signal was not HD so the flat screen had poor resolution. Handy refrig, microwave, coffee machine. Big vanity with two sinks and make up stool. It was a long walk to the car from our 4th floor north wing room, though the casino and hotel, then parking lot. No shortcuts.

Public spaces were fine and some pleasant surprises were the quality of the food specials for the rock-bottom prices, and how nice the front door staff were, especially Tom who voluntarily fetched me morning coffee & newspapers in the lobby lounge, with a big smile. Considering that the casino floor is the dominating central space, they are doing a good job of containing the noise, smoke, activity. People seemed relaxed, it was low key, and I saw many staff around keeping an eye on things.

Fortunately there were many places to sit out away from the gambling area, such as the spacious fireplace lounge, Starbucks coffee bar, benches outside facing the ocean. This was helpful, as my elderly father sleeps 11 hours a day so I needed to go somewhere, so as not to disturb him.

You can’t miss the entrance out by the highway thanks to the monster LED sign. The car approach is actually very scenic, with lovely scenic natural landscape.

You know, for $89 plus tax this place can’t be beat. Right after Labor was a perfect time, too. Less traffic, good weather, better rates. We enjoyed road trips to the Hoh Rain Forest, Seabrook, Iron Springs resort, and being around the ocean.

Room Tip: South wing is closer to parking. Ocean view is more money, but probably worth it, if sunsets are lik...
