“Oceanside Value”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

I was more than happy with our two night stay here. The room was large, offered a clear view of the ocean and some comfortable furniture near the window to enjoy it, was quiet, nicely furnished, had a gas fireplace, and was very clean. Lighting, a pet peeve of mine, was just fine. The cable TV signal was not HD so the flat screen had poor resolution. Handy refrig, microwave, coffee machine. Big vanity with two sinks and make up stool. It was a long walk to the car from our 4th floor north wing room, though the casino and hotel, then parking lot. No shortcuts.

Public spaces were fine and some pleasant surprises were the quality of the food specials for the rock-bottom prices, and how nice the front door staff were, especially Tom who voluntarily fetched me morning coffee & newspapers in the lobby lounge, with a big smile. Considering that the casino floor is the dominating central space, they are doing a good job of containing the noise, smoke, activity. People seemed relaxed, it was low key, and I saw many staff around keeping an eye on things.

Fortunately there were many places to sit out away from the gambling area, such as the spacious fireplace lounge, Starbucks coffee bar, benches outside facing the ocean. This was helpful, as my elderly father sleeps 11 hours a day so I needed to go somewhere, so as not to disturb him.

You can’t miss the entrance out by the highway thanks to the monster LED sign. The car approach is actually very scenic, with lovely scenic natural landscape.

You know, for $89 plus tax this place can’t be beat. Right after Labor was a perfect time, too. Less traffic, good weather, better rates. We enjoyed road trips to the Hoh Rain Forest, Seabrook, Iron Springs resort, and being around the ocean.

Room Tip: South wing is closer to parking. Ocean view is more money, but probably worth it, if sunsets are lik...

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino at the end of August 2013 and enjoyed our stay. We had a king bed room that overlooked the ocean! The room was comfortable (bed was great!) but needed some updating. The couch in the sitting area of our room had some stains and small tears, the wallpaper was peeling and needed repaired, but other than that the room was very clean, and for Ocean Shores it was probably the nicest hotel option in town.

My wife doesn't handle cigarette smoke well so I was a little nervous that the hotel would smell like smoke from the casino but we didn't notice the smoke in the hotel area (at least not where our room was on the 4th floor).

We loved the $1.99 breakfast and ate it both mornings we were there, played a little in the casino, and overall really enjoyed our stay.

If we return to Ocean Shores we would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: The king rooms on the 4th floor that face the ocean were great!

Stayed here for 1 night. Overall good experience. The rooms are comfy. Some updating needs to happen. The hallways have taken a beating. Even though this is a casino the non smoking rooms did not smell of smoke. So thats a plus. Food in bar is great.

The price was good; couldn't complain there. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Can't complain there, either. However, we weren't there for the casino; we went for the beach. It rained while we were there, which isn't the hotel's fault, but with the rain, there's nothing else to do there. The pool was clear on the other side of the hotel so we'd have to walk through the casino and past the restaurants to get to it. Sounds minor, but that's a bit of a walk. It's not a small hotel. There was also one ice machine on the floor, which was also clear on the other side of the hotel. We just kept walking and walking and walking trying to find one!

Web site says they have buffets, but what it doesn't tell you is that the buffets are only one the weekends. We went downstairs for the breakfast buffet only to find out there wasn't one. Couldn't eat at either of the restaurants either because neither were open yet (it was 7:30 a.m.). We got in the car and drove a half hour to Aberdeen for breakfast, which is the nearest town that has anything in it.

And FYI for those who might require it....if you need handicapped parking...this is NOT the place you want to stay at! There's about 10 spaces (roughly) for the hotel AND casino. You're not going to get a parking spot unless you park a considerable distance away or have the complimentary (it's free, but they expect a gratuity, so it's not really free) valet park and then get your car for you.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for a room on the ocean. The ocean is quite a distance from the hotel, so while...

The rooms have definitely improved, but have a bit to go to be competitive with most western Washingron casino/hotels. Like last time, the amenities are good but the rooms still have a somewhat run down aura. The casino is like most casinos with table games for gamers and lots of slot machines for the easily amused. We ate dinner at Emily's and were generally pleased. We were there on Monday night and took advantage of the pasta and meatball special for five bucks. You can't go wrong. The previous day we ate at the buffet and, boy, did we go wrong. Avoid the roast beef unless you're a fan of scanty gristle-filled slices.. All in all, it smacks of a second rate operation that would probably flop if it had viable competition.

We chose to avail ourselves of an e-mailed room rate special for my birthday weekend and found the Quinault Beach Resort And Casino a warmly welcoming, beautifully appointed jewel on Washington's coast. From the moment we were greeted by the door person outside the building to the desk clerk's well wishes with our checking out, it was magnificent. Period. I mean that nothing that could have derailed an amazing couple of days away from home caused even a second thought with the savvy staff of this hotel/casino taking care to make every moment perfect. I would have included photos of the meals we enjoyed at the resort but I was too busy savoring each scrumptious bite to concern myself with photos; if the flavor could've been included in the photos, I'd have tried and tried but we were here to celebrate and so we did.

All I can say is that we'll be back at this great location again and again if I have any say in where to go for a road trip!

Room Tip: We had requested an ocean view room and were delighted to see a couple of deer on our first morning...

We've stayed here four times over the years and our stay has always been pleasant, but there's a few things I'd change if I could...room service is very limited and is only offered until 9 pm; service at Emily's, the main restaurant, and the coffee bar is inconsistent; and the air conditioning/heating units in the room are very noisy. The rooms have been renovated and now there's only a window that opens a small amount-- very disappointing because we were looking forward to hearing the ocean outside our hotel room ( the rooms used to have sliding doors that opened). Our room was clean for the most part but there was a couple stains on the carpet and the sliding doors on the closet were broken. Also, there was no in-room safe. On the plus side, it's nice to have a fireplace and refrigerator in the room.
