My friend and I had rolled into Ocean shores a bit late (for small towns, anyway) and many things were closed. We saw Bennett's - looked promising. We both hate to be "that customer" who comes in just before they close, and though I began to realize we may have done that, they invited us on in to the bar area, said it was no problem. All without a single whiff of being less than sincere.
I wish I had gotten the bartenders name, but he is the one who took good care of us, and the poor cook who had to dirty up his grill again, for two. I got what turned out to be a massive burger, with fries, and a touch I love, simple as it is; a spear pickle. My friend had crab cakes, and said they were good. Perhaps a bit salty, but good.
I'd like to add that I guess they've been short handed. Myself, I've worked in food service in the past and I know how that can be. So perhaps a little patience and understanding is in order. The bartender had been there 12 hours already, and still found it in him to be polite. Of course, it was only us getting food, so I don't know about the waits when it is full, but being down a server is hell. I feel like here in this country we are so NOW NOW NOW, it's ridiculous.I mention all this as extra kudos to that bartender.
