Restaurant was observed open when we arrived at Best Western--- 2/6/14---Closed the next day
and remained closed for the rest of our stay (5 days).....We went to other properties for dinner and lunch. This is not the first time this has happened in the past 3-4 years.

We were told this is the place the locals go. They must have stayed home when we were there with good reason. The bar had a couple of scruffy looking local characters chatting up the lady bartender with their volume turned up about 4 notches too hi for anywhere save the local dive. The dining room surrounds the bar with nothing save a half wall separating them so we were subjected to all the profanity scattered opinions of the three while trying to enjoy dinner with kids. The server was dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans and yelled across the room to the bartender when she needed something. At one point the cell phone in her pocket buzzed and she excused herself in the middle of asking us if we wanted more soda. The food was just not good. Not just low quality for the lofty prices but just not good. All in all it was a bad experience.

We have a tendency to get into a restaurant rut because it's gotten so expensive to eat out we hate to risk trying something new and having a bad experience. The Waves Restaurant is exactly why.

Potato and jalapeño soup was awesome. It does bite back though. If you like a bit of heat this is awesome. Then I had the pot pie. Almost as good as the soup. That soup was just amazing.

Go for the Clam Chowder but the rest of the food just medicore....so so if you will
But it's convenient and I guess that counts for something
Happy Hour if you just want to drink and nibble but as for a dining out experience there is probably better around in Ocean Shores
Server was pleasant and very helpful in deciding what to order.

Do I need to say more? I went here because I was staying at the hotel on a mini vacation. It was ruined thanks to getting food poisoning from this place. Ok place to grab a beer but for the love of god don't eat here simply terrible!!!
