“Ok place to eat :/”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

Traveling on a business trip, my coworkers heard this place was an awesome place to go eat. It was ok. I just felt it was just another restaurant as any other. The price was a bit expensive for what they had on the menu. I wasn't really feeling the environment, just enjoyed the company of my coworkers, of which we didn't stay long. I don't think none of us plan on coming back. Only thing 1 of the guys compliment them on was the 6 glass of beer sample, cause that's something never seen before. Everyone will have a different outtake of the place you just have to go there and try it out for yourself.
The waitress and waiters where very pleasant.

“Ate here twice it was so good”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

The menu is large and has many great options. I tried their cedar plank (?) salmon one evening and oysters another night. Both were very good. Their sweet potato hash is wonderful; one of my favorites!

“Food has really gone downhill - disappointed”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

We used to go to this restaurant frequently. Not anymore. The last three times we went, the food quality was poor, food that was supposed to be hot was lukewarm, servings were inconsistent, and food that should have been fresh (like vegetables) were not. Also, they were out of a lot of the food selections. Efforts to contact the restaurant management to provide this feedback were not acknowledged.

“Pub food and local brews ...”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

This bar/pub/restaurant, with its conspicuous flying/airplane theme is on Hwy 20, the main road through Oak Harbour. The food is pretty good, standard pub fare. When we visited, they were in the process of changing to a new menu, so a few items were unavailable. Despite being quite busy, the food came quickly, and was hot and fresh. There is the usual predictable range of domestic bottled brews for the non-beer connoisseur. The in-house brewery had six ales on the menu ... we tried all six. A "flight" of six 4 ounce tasters is only $9.00 and provided a great way to sample the full spectrum. My wife loved the Belgian-style Hefeweizen, and my hop-heavy Afterburner was very good. During Happy Hour, a pint is only $3.50 ... how can this be a bad thing? Our server was delightful and very knowledgeable about the food and all the craft brews that were offered.

Would I go again? You bet, next time we are in Oak Harbour!

“Enjoyable Meal in Comfortable Surroundings”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

We came here because we'd seen they had homemade chicken fried steak on their menu online. My husband loves homemade chicken fried steak. Unfortunately, when we ordered, the waitress told us they had just started a hiatus on this entree - apparently they change out their menu throughout the year & hadn't changed the actual menu itself yet. Though this was a disappointment, there were many other interesting items on the menu & we chose fish & chips, along with a loaded Chicago Dog. It seems most of the restaurants in town only offer lingcod, so it was nice they had true cod. There was a good variety of fare on the menu, from burgers, sandwiches and pizza to tacos, pasta & seafood. Lots of choices for different tastes. We're looking forward to returning to try some of their other entrees & would like to try their happy hour, when they offer good specials. The service was fast and friendly. It is a casual place and the restaurant is basically an extension of the bar so sports TV is part of the package, but overall the restaurant had a friendly feel about it. My only negative comment is there was a bit of an off odor, which we originally thought came from the restrooms, as they are right at the entrance. However, the restrooms were clean and not smelly so perhaps it is the brewery itself, which is visible right on the other side of the glass. We got used to it after the first few moments.
