Owner description: Located approximately 25 miles north of Seattle, The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour is the only public tour of a commercial jet assembly plant in North America. Explore the interactive exhibits and displays in our 28,000-square-foot Aviation Center Gallery; then take a 90-minute tour of the Boeing plant where you can watch 747s, 777s, or 787 Dreamliners being assembled right before your eyes. There is a minimum height requirement of 4 feet (122 cm) for children participating in the Boeing Tour. To avoid disappointment please make sure to check height before purchasing tickets. This restriction is strictly enforced. ADA accessible tours are offered twice daily. Call in advance to ensure proper accommodations. In the Future of Flight Aviation Center Gallery, the Family Zone is home to a number of different activities, all designed around a theme of aircraft manufacturing and assembly. Activity carts let visitors build a simple aircraft model, or use our Lego (and Lego-compatible) pieces to express new ideas about aircraft design. A kid-sized airport and aircraft allow future pilots of all ages to practice their take-offs and landings. Currently, the Family Zone is also home to a highly engaging, hands-on nanotechnology exhibit, and a Bernoulli Table, an exciting interactive experience that teaches the relationship between the velocity of air and the pressure it exerts. Coloring and reading activities are also available, and drop-ins are welcome. Admission is free for ticket holders and for Institute of Flight members.

For any aircraft enthusiast this is a must do while in the Seattle area. Off course security and perhaps IP restrictions prevent one from taking camera during factory tour, however seeing the manufacturing of the 747, 777 and Dreamliner 787 is pretty incredible. Tour guides are clearly very knowledgeable and enjoy doing the tour. There is some walking to be done so dress comfortable.

Our tour guide was excellent and really enthusiastic. This made up for the disappointment of the actual tour itself. It is true - a lot of what is said during the tour is really - more or less - about promoting boeing as a company. I'll always remember the line that the tour guide taught us to say: "If it's not Boeing, I'm NOT going!". Be prepared for loads and loads of brisk walking. We got to see the production lines and workers working on the planes (apparently most of them are hidden from sight as they are inside the planes). I really thought we would at least get up close and personal with at least one plane but this was not the case. Aviation buffs may be disappointed with this aspect. Also, there was hardly any activity on the runway the day we went. Overall, the tour is decent especially since tickets aren't really that expensive. We had a really great tour guide and the excellent souvenir/gift shop ultimately made this experience worthwhile.

Online reservation system very easy. Got there early, was able to get in earlier group. Tour guide very friendly and knowledgeable. Buses clean and comfortable. Boeing facility clean. Only wish they offered discounts (military or senior).

OK so to start with I am interested in aviation so I was always going to enjoy this visit. Lost count of how many times i was told not to bring a camera bit over the top. Excellent guide who was humerus and inborn active (well done Greg). Tour well managed and kept two teenagers happy. Lunch good and inexpensive. However, don't go expecting to see aeroplanes up close. Museum us really a holding area for those waiting for tours and is little more than Boeing propoganda and less than subtle digs at Airbus. If you've any aircraft up close and personal then I am sure one of the very many other museums will fill that void in your life. Fun and informative morning but not a full day without adding another attraction in the area.

Lots of great exhibits and great shops with Boeing and flight-related merchandise. Nice little cafe.
