Owner description: Located approximately 25 miles north of Seattle, The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour is the only public tour of a commercial jet assembly plant in North America. Explore the interactive exhibits and displays in our 28,000-square-foot Aviation Center Gallery; then take a 90-minute tour of the Boeing plant where you can watch 747s, 777s, or 787 Dreamliners being assembled right before your eyes. There is a minimum height requirement of 4 feet (122 cm) for children participating in the Boeing Tour. To avoid disappointment please make sure to check height before purchasing tickets. This restriction is strictly enforced. ADA accessible tours are offered twice daily. Call in advance to ensure proper accommodations. In the Future of Flight Aviation Center Gallery, the Family Zone is home to a number of different activities, all designed around a theme of aircraft manufacturing and assembly. Activity carts let visitors build a simple aircraft model, or use our Lego (and Lego-compatible) pieces to express new ideas about aircraft design. A kid-sized airport and aircraft allow future pilots of all ages to practice their take-offs and landings. Currently, the Family Zone is also home to a highly engaging, hands-on nanotechnology exhibit, and a Bernoulli Table, an exciting interactive experience that teaches the relationship between the velocity of air and the pressure it exerts. Coloring and reading activities are also available, and drop-ins are welcome. Admission is free for ticket holders and for Institute of Flight members.

“90 Minute Tour Flies by in No Time”

This tour to see how 747's, 777's, 787's etc. are assembled is utterly amazing. Greg, our tour guide, was a walking encyclopedia of facts, figures, and details. There's so much information that you can't possibly retain all of the interesting and fascinating tidbits.

I have friends who live in the area who have never done this tour. I've now told them they really should do it. I visit frequently from Canada and the Boeing tour has been on my list of 'Things to Do'. I'm only sorry it took me six years to do it. It is definitely worth a repeat visit.

“Interesting for Everyone, Even Those Who Aren't Interested in Flight”
Reviewed February 25, 2013 via mobile

Went to the tour while my family and myself were vacationing in Seattle. Really not a bad drive from the city. They have many time slots to choose from so you do not have to plan your day around it, you can more fit the tour in whenever your schedule allows for it.

The tour itself is truly fascinating. You get to see the largest, and most impressive, aircraft in Boeing's lineup from the ever famous 747 jumbo jet to the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner. I myself love aviation so I was in heaven. My other members of my family also enjoyed the tour. None of them are into aviation, but it tough not to be drawn in by the amazing sight of these huge machines in a state which you cannot see anywhere else.

There is a bit of walking and some of which in areas that, even in July, we a little chilly. The walking shouldn't be a concern however, just something to note so you can wear appropriate shoes. Also, and this is my only complaint, you cannot bring any phones or electronics of any kind that take pictures. It's tough to surrender the opportunity to take pictures of such magnificent sights.

Overall I highly recommend this to anyone, whether into aviation or not, as it is truly impressive sight and gives you a whole new perspective on aviation.

“For aviation geeks and those just interested in seeing aircraft assembly”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Quite a bit of walking, but it goes by quickly. The tour starts at the Future of Flight Aviation Museum with a short movie about Boeing. You then board busses to go to the actual 747/777/787 assembly factory.

“Aviation museum not to be missed”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

For aviation geeks, this is a must. The Boeing tour also starts here. And, there is a Boeing Company store which is open to museum visitors.
