“Authentic Thai food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

The food is delicious. If you love real Thai food then you should try it. I have been there when they are busy and the quality isn't as high but still good.

“Nice to go to a family run restaurant for a change.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2011

Stepping in the door of this small family run restaurant, one instantly feels at home. The owners are very nice. Thai decor and kitchy memorabelia on red painted walls. Casual and really good value compared to many other thai restaurants that I've been to in Seattle that aren't even close on quality of food and flavors. The food was obviously made attentively with fresh and true ingredients. Real fresh peppers. Real Thai basil (there is a difference, believe me), and attentively cooked eggplant and tofu in some great sauces. Their pad thai is about the best I've tasted and the Chang beer not too shabby. The food came hot and appealing. Will definitely come back and might even try ordering take-out which appeared to be a good option given the number of orders they were filling. Who knew that little old Mountlake Terrace could offer some great Thai food.

“All-in-the-family Delicious!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2009

From the algebra book on the front table, to the young man in squeaky sneakers, this is a family-run restaurant through-and-through. While not particularly pretty or comfortable, the homey ease and honest food had me relaxed and satiated in no time.

I started with cream cheese wantons. The fried shells had a bit of chewiness left in them. The filing was rich, herbaceous, and peppery. I'm a sucker for cream cheese wantons and these were great. The pad thai was excellent with it's smooth rice noodles and peanutty sweetness. The panang curry was on a whole other level - sweet, savory, and spicy - a perfect example of the blending of flavors that makes Thai one of the world's great cuisines.

The next time I'm in town, this will be the first place on my list. If you live in the area, you might want to avoid it though - I can't imagine how you could ever eat at home knowing Amorn was nearby.

“Authentic fresh Thai!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2008

Mr. Amorn ran a four star restaurant in Thailand before bringing his family here to Washington. My girlfriend is allergic to gluten, so we eat at a lot of Thai restaurants. Amorn Thai Cuisine is excellent!

The fresh rolls are fresh -- the shrimp tastes like shrimp, not fish. The menu has all the favorites plus a few that I hadn't seen. Somehow he (actually I understand that his mom is in the back cooking also) manages to flavor the foods rather than just make them however spicy you want.

If you're looking for Thai food and are tired of the strip mall cheap 'everything tastes alike' Thai food, then head to Mountake Terrace and prepare for a treat. We come from Redmond and find it well worth the drive.
