“The best views on the Washington Coast”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Any visit to the Washington coast is a surprising occasion but our recent visit at the Ocean Crest Resort was just outstanding. Located on a bluff overlooking Pacific Beach, the Ocean Crest has updated its north building so it's ideal for couples and families -- even pets. Our room's deck overlooking the ocean was framed by stately trees offering sweeping views and gorgeous sunsets -- some say the best on the coast. A handy boardwalk takes you directly to the uncrowded beach and easy access to the surf. The Curtright family that has run the resort for fifty years are as friendly and accommodating as possible. When the air turned chilly, we fired up the wood-burning fireplace for a cozy snuggle by the picture windows. A perfect getaway.

Room Tip: Choose one of the large rooms in the newer (400) building to the north. The Ocean Crest Restaurant i...

There is pretty much nothing to do in Moclips, but go to the Beach. This place is located on a bluff just above with stairway access on the property. Rooms are large, and ours had a VIEW. On a clear day I'm sure we could see Japan. A family establishment that is beautifully run. The room was spotless. What a nice surprize!

This resort has good service, comfortable (tall) beds, & access to the gym/pool across the hwy. Depending on the room, you will get a view of the ocean as well. No restaurant on side since the old one burned, but supposedly they are rebuilding.

(Studio Room) I found our adequate, yet lacking. TVs are small and outdated with a hand-crafted stand with dvd player. No microwave in the room. Bathroom was small and the toilet even smaller. With that said, it was still comfortable and the bed was excellent! The only real negative we had was the road noise and thin doors made noisy neighbors.

We were offered a good rate and even offered a special by the desk clerk who was friendly and helpful.

We would stay here again. 4 of 5 in our opinion - with some above updates, we would upgrade our rating!

Room Tip: Not all rooms are ocean view, but you can see it with a short walk from most rooms. Expect some roa...

our stay was amazing and the lady at the front desk was excellent and introduced us to her HUGE ginger colored cat. she had a load of information on the area and telling me i could drive my jeep on the beach, which i've never done (always heading up into the mountains)...we also enjoyed listening to the surf even with the door slightly ajar...it was amazing. the rooms were clean and comfortable and the bed?...i slept like a baby!!

see you soon as i will be coming back for a sunny weekend of driving the beach before april 1 deadline :0)

Room Tip: we stayed in 402, but there is another floor higher...the view might be cut off a little due to the...

We just got home after four gorgeous days and three relaxing nights at the Ocean Crest. What a fabulous place! Our room (401--a large studio with disabled accessibility) was immaculately clean and well-maintained. The view was out of this world. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. I know we'll be going back!

We returned to Ocean Crest after an absence of a few years. The resort suffered a devastating fire in Jun 2011 taking out the restaurant, gift shop, Native American collection. However, the rooms were unaffected. My partner and I have just spent a wonderful 3 nights. We always stay in rm 401 which is on the corner ground floor with our own patio & small yard on a moderate cliff overlooking the ocean. Our room has fabulous views of the ocean from 2 sides. We have a large bathroom, 2 comfortable queens, nice dining table by window, microwave, small refrig, tv and wifi. The Seattle Times is delivered to the room daily. The resort maintains a high level of cleanliness and quality accomodations. What a wonderful way to spend some rejuvenating time at the ocean.

Room Tip: Room 401 has roll in shower and fabulous view. I believe 402 is similar but with regular shower. I...

This was our second autumn getaway to this beautiful, quiet (except for the birds and the ocean roar) resort. Our first was a few years back before the restaurant burned, and the restaurant was the BIG draw then. It was outstanding. Now the management, while preparing to rebuild the restaurant, are focused on providing the most comfortable, relaxing atmosphere for their guests. Admittedly, we got a much better value by taking advantage of a Groupon offer, which I recommend, but we did not receive "cut-rate" service. We took along some microwaveable food, but also ate a couple of times at local "hole-in-the-wall" places to enjoy the local flavor (Seagate Restaurant and Lounge is walking distance, and the Green Lantern is a few miles south in Copalis Beach). Neither is particularly outstanding, but the food is good and reasonably priced, and the service is good. CAT LOVERS: You'll want to meet Mr. Kitty, a 20+ lb Maine Coon who OWNS the property!

Room Tip: They have a few budget studios (like the "closet" mentioned by a previous reviewer) with r...
