Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle North Lynnwood
Ranked #3 of 13 Hotels in Lynnwood
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 5, 2009

We have stayed at Embassy Suites in Portland, OR many many times, as it is an amazing hotel to stay at. So for our weekender trip to Seattle it seemed like a no-brainer to choose this Lynnwood hotel. But all in all we weren't very impressed with this one, and it certainly doesn't have the same high standards as the Portland hotel does. The buffet breakfast was good but had no waffles, which is strange for an Embassy Suites.

Of the 2 elevator, one was out or order and the other was always BRUTALLY slow, to the point that we took the stairs a couple times rather than wait for a couple minutes. It was also dirty and had a weird smell to it, as did some of the hallways.
Another thing, this hotel was literally CRAMMED with kids of all ages. Which meant non-stop running around screaming and playing in the halls. Not once did my husband and I enter a hallway that was empty or quiet!
Besides the racket of the kids running around, our room was noisy as well. We could hear noise constantly from the parking lot below. until at least 11 pm. (we were on the 3rd floor).
But there's more. The bathroom did not have a fan but it did have a huge vent above the entrance to the bathroom. This vent was very LOUD and we had to close the bedroom door and put in ear plugs so as not to hear it all night.
When we checked in to the hotel we had to sign a sheet that basically gave them the right to charge you $100 for any damage, etc. to the room during your stay. They said it was because there are so many kids in the hotel. We were kinda miffed by this. They have our credit card on file, so why do they need to treat us like criminals and insult us with this up-front extortion?
One final thing, the computers in the business center were brutally SLOW to the point of being almost useless and the room had a stink of cigarette smoke.
To sum up, this hotel didn't feel clean in the halls and elevator, the breakfast was good but missing some of the staples that other Embassy Suites have. It was also very NOISY. We had asked way in advance to be put in a quiet room away from the eating area and the swimming pool, but I don't think any room would have been quiet in this overrun-by-families hotel!
On a minor note, the tvs in the room were old and dated and one of them was missing it's remote control. Also, in the exercise room none of the 5 available head phones worked (for the exercise bikes and treadmills).
This hotel needs to do better than I've described! We'll never stay at this one again. If you're traveling with a family I guess you'll like this hotel for it's buffet breakfast, but for couples who want a relaxing, quiet stay this hotel is not for you!

I wondered why the internet access was so cheap ($4.95/24hr). It is because it is 250kbps at all hours. brutual... And you can't use your phone on verizon as your modem because it is only 1XRTT. So, if you need fast internet, choose another hotel.

We use Embassy Suites frequently but won't revisit this one. It's NOISY! People walking past our third-floor room (and also, apparently-unsupervised children running) caused the floor to vibrate the noise into the room. Room doors operated by the automatic closers (repeatedly, apparently by said children) caused the walls to shake with a booming noise. Guaranteed to wake you up. ES may not be responsible for construction specs or inconsiderate people. But we don't have to suffer from it twice.

Oh, and paying for internet access is ludicrous. Even Motel 6 doesn't do this.

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and I said never again. But after reading the reviews I gave it another try, and I am glad I did. The rooms have all been renovated which was the biggest problem last time. I like having the separate bedroom and the extra space as we were travelling with our kids. They love the pool area although it isn't very big and on the weekend we were there it was packed with kids. The daily breakfast is great. I love having both the breakfast and the evening reception and even if it is typical Embassy Suites stuff as mentioned in other reviews, it is a great feature to have. The prices are still really reasonable and you are only minutes from Seattle and lots of shopping.

This is a nice location just off I-5, 15 minutes from downtown. Room was very clean and had all amenities you expect from Embassy Suites. Atrium area is dated and in need of some love. Reception and breakfast was standard Embassy Suites fare, which is not spectacular, but is a good meal and a solid value. Had on my reservation On request for extra towels and pillows which we had to call down for in the morning (only 3 towels and 4 people). But I would stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel with a very small pool area, although the waterfall is nice and my little girl had a great time. Don't let the words "two-room suites" fool you. The total room is not much bigger than your average hotel room. There is no storage for your luggage if you have more than one bag. the closet is very small. It was nice having two tv's and the fold out sofa was comfy for my 5 yr old. The pool area is extremely noisy. Don't expect to relax in the hot tub. It was always packed and heavily chlorinated, so much so we left early to keep our eyes from watering. Their heavy chlorine made my legs itch very badly. The breakfast is the highlight of the stay with sounds of waterfalls around you. Everything was delicious, pancakes, french toast, and bacon were barely warm though. They have a very good oatmeal with all the fixings. The elevators smelled pretty bad, like stinky feet. I don't know about the past complaints about the pillows, but ours were fabulous, fluffy feather pillows. Bed was very comfortable, just very tight in our room. Not much distance between the bed and the tv. We left our hotel everyday in the morningand didn't come back til the evening, so we would stay here again. difficult acces from the south bound I-5. Easy to get to heading north from Seattle. No matter what they say, the internet service is NOT free.

Nice Embassy Suites north of Seattle. Pick this hotel due to a graduation we had nearby. Good size rooms with large bathrooms. Good breakfast every morning.
