“Travelling to Seattle with Kids? A Great Place to Stay!”
Reviewed April 4, 2011

We travelled to Lynnwood, WA (north of Seattle) to enjoy our spring break as tourists in Seattle. We chose the Embassy Suites after reviewing a few websites and of course, price comparisons. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find. As we were travelling with 4 kids age 12 and under, the double/double suite needed to be big enough for the 6 of us and it was. Although the beds were a little on the narrow side for the grownups, the room was great. 2 tv's, 2 sinks and a small fridge were suitable for us. The room was clean, well appointed, quiet and comfortable. All room doors face the beautiful atrium with palm trees and coi ponds. Very tropical! The pool was clean, large and featured a nice waterfall. We really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. Each evening, the hotel offered a Manager's Reception complete with snacks and beverages (soft drinks for the kids, open bar for the grown ups and included in the room rate!). If you are travelling with your kids, you will love the breakfast....each morning (also included in the price of your room) was a cook to order omellette, and pancakes, bacon, sausage, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice...need I go on?!? It was an exceptional breakfast and because the kids had so many choices, even our fussy eaters were satisfied. We were so impressed with the Embassy Suites, our planned 2 night hotel stay turned into 3....actually 4 after our vehicle needed a repair. We enjoyed visiting Seattle (great people!) and having the Embassy as our home base was convenient and so comfortable. Very friendly and caring staff welcomed us and made our stay that much more wonderful. Our kids loved this hotel and we would absolutely return. The hotel offered WiFi, but it cost $ 4.95 per day...really not a big deal considering the excellent breakfast included in your room rate. I hope they can keep their rates reasonable so that families can continue to enjoy this hotel.....Highly Recommended for Families with Young Children!

Room Tip: Wish the double beds could have been queens

My family likes staying here when we are in the Seattle area. We like the suites that have a bedroom with a door. With kids and their earlier bed times we rely on such hotels. We like this hotel because the breakfast is free and very good. And, we like the indoor pool and hot tub that has a waterfall. The kids like watching the fish throughout the stream in the hotel. Nice place.

The atrium in the middle of the hotel is very grand. I really liked the visual appeal of that. The morning breakfast chefs are incredibly friendly and the front desk people, very accommodating. The rooms are well appointed and have nice LCD TVs in them. The only complaint that can be made about the hotel is hearing the other guests when opening and closing doors. This didn't bother me a bit, but I can imagine if you were a light sleeper, it could be disruptive. Overall I enjoyed my weeks stay here, but I'm a bit biased on Embassy Suites in general. I like having a microwave and refrigerator when traveling!

Nice hotel but could use some work.
Computers in their business room are slower than dial up---useless .
My closet does not have a door????
Exersize equipment works well but the displays and buttons are tough .
Pool could be cleaner and a little heat would help

Check in about 7:00 PM and discovered bed bugs just before turning in. Notice 6 bed bugs; 4 appeared to be dead but 2 were crawling. Notified staff right away who were nice about it and offered another room right away. I decided to check out instead. I will now make sure to check every time no matter how nice the hotel appears to be. Other than that, the hotel appeared to be very good.

Weekend traveller, thank you for your comments. We certainly apologize for this mishap and have sent you a more detailed apology in the mail. Our night audit team did jump right on this situation after you reported it and they immediately summoned our pest control company to inspect and treat the suite. Fortunately the insects you found were not bed bugs, but carpet beetles. The entire suite was treated and the linens bagged and removed. The surrounding suites and hallway were also treated, although no evidence of beetles were found. That suite has since been re-inspected and deemed pest free by our service company and has now been returned to usable inventory. There have been no additional reports of insect activity. This appears to have been a one-time event that was treated quickly and abated from spreading. Thank you again, for bringing this to our attention.

My mom, sisters and I stay here every year in the fall for a shopping trip and we just can't go wrong with the price, the free breakfast and cocktails at night! We all love it. Always clean, everyone is helpful and we will continue to keep coming back each year!

we came down for a quick trip to hit the zoo, space needle ,shopping etc.... The hotel was recommended by a buddy. We found the rooms were dated except for the bathrooms, internet was slow, everything smelled like fabreez and the pool made us itchy,It was also loud at night in the room and the tv clicker did not work on either of the TV sets ,The breakfast was great the one day , but I was sure glad I wasent stuck on the interstate the next day as I would of had to buy a new set of underwear and a car seat cover , Also the extra 17%gratuity + $2 for room service is a joke and the cost of internet is a joke as well .For the price we payed I cant say we were happy about it in the end .
