“Educational! Entertaining! An amazingly large museum with fantastic displays.”

A wonderful find in the middle of this relatively small town, the Lynden Pioneer Museum is a fantastic outing. Allow yourself several hours --- this isn't an excursion you'd want to have to hurry through. The staff are welcoming, informed, and proud of their town and museum (and well they should be). A fun "surprise" is the fact that there are a large number of carriages, vehicles, pieces of farm machinery, bicycles---and more in a basement that had to be dug so there was a place to house the collections! The re-creation of an old time Lynden town street---with various shops, a cafe, etc. is visible from the "street" level and also from a second floor balcony surrounding the town. We were only in Lynden from a Friday night through Sunday morning, and, although our visit to the Museum absorbed a proportionately large part of our free time, we were not at all sorry we spent our entire Saturday afternoon in the Museum!

“Better than the Bellingham Museum!! So much more to see!!”

You almost need 2 days to really go over the place and see every detail on display! They also are very welcoming and have plays, history slides etc. offered on occasion.

“most interesting”

I was impressed with the enthusiasm of the staff for the history & artifacts displayed, but too much emphasis was placed on purchasing souvenirs - i wasn't interesteed.

“Lots to see”
Reviewed March 2, 2012

Did a field trip with some seniors here. Loved this museum! Even had a small diner there (not serving food, just to give you an idea of what it looked like years ago). A great collection of cars/carriages here too. Very interesting place....doesn't advertise much but it should as it is a well done museum.
