“This is where the locals eat”

Excellent food, especially at lunch -- pub grub plus. This is a local hangout. Not fancy. Not expensive either. Nice view over Fish Bay in the summer. (In the winter, they often close the big room and serve in a small room off the bar.)

“Good food not found in your normal ship galley”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

I have been eating breakfast on many different occasions when visiting Lopez Island. Normally, we walk down from the marina at Fisherman's Bay about one mile north. The walk takes about 15 minutes, and is a very pleasant one. The view from the front window alone is worth coming for breakfast by itself.

The staff her are nice, the coffee and food are fresh, and we just keep coming back.

I had pancakes, eggs, and bacon this morning and it was delicious. One friend had hash browns and scrambled eggs, and the other had Eggs Benedict. We all liked the food, and plan to return in the future.

I am sorry, but we cannot comment on other meals because we only have breakfast while staying our boat.

Anyway, for a great breakfast, make sure you think of The Galley Restaurant next time you visit Lopez Island.

“Old dining room with a little funk”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Good food and good service. Kind of a combination of 70's dining room with some funky new art thrown in which makes the good food a pleasant surprise.
Pricey but average for the island.

“Good food and drinks”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

We had heard good things about this restaurant and is seems to be well-deserved praise. Our dinners were excellent and they had a great selection on beer on tap. It was more expensive than I had expected but certainly no more than most restaurants in the San Juan Islands.

“Halibut Tacos: the best”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

The halibut tacos were so good that I ordered them in the next three restaurants I went to, only to be so disappointed. I used to relish fish tacos anywhere. Now I will only order them at The Gallery. It's a funky little original restaurant with a view of the water, but the chef! Outstanding!
