We were in Long Beach the week of May 5-9, 2014. We have a friend from home who had recently moved there and we all went out to dinner. On previous trips we had wanted to eat at the Pickled Fish, but were a bit leery because of the reviews. This time when we checked we saw that the reviews were better, so we decided to try it. What a pleasant surprise! They were real busy, but they cleared space on a long table and made room for us. The waitress was right there with menus and took our drink orders. The long table had another group at the other end and so we asked what they were having. They said the fish and chips was good so that's what we ordered. Service was fast considering how busy they were. After we were served, our waitress checked back with us a couple of times for more drinks or if we needed anything. Everything was cooked just right. The fish was very good. Then came time for desert, we all had something different. I had a strawberry cheesecake, which was excellent - maybe the best I ever had. My wife and our friend both said their deserts were very good also. Prices are not out of line and are about normal for the coast. The view is fantastic. They have a room which they open later in the evening for live music. The only downside that I could see was that it was quite noisy. We will definitely go back.
