You have to see this place to believe it! There is so much to see and the shopping is great. This place is crazy, it is one of those that you remember forever.

“There's something for everyone here!”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

Marsh's is a weird, wacky and wonderful place for the whole family, although it would be tight if you were in a wheel chair. There are tons of oddities to look at this eccentric store/museum. I never miss a chance to see 'Jake the Alligator Man', but really enjoy the sea shells and antique games. A rare gem you'll not soon forget.

“The kids will love it”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Just so you know we visit Marsh's every time we're in Long Beach. But it's no museum. It's the world's cheesiest gift shop. But where else can you see the infamous Jake the Alligator Man? It gets five stars for the amount tacky stuff / square foot, but in a good just sit back and enjoy it on your vacation kind of way. Check it out, buy a Jake t-shirt and some shells. Good times.

“Tourist trap but still fun”
Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

Of course you have to like junk, kitsch and odd things to appreciate it. This is free and has a few interesting things exhibited, particularly Jake the half man half alligator. The evolution of this creature and the use to which it has been put have inspired a few newspaper articles. Let's face it though, the place exists so you will come in then buy stuff or pay to use the machines. Good parking, friendly staff and an anthropological phenomenon. What more could you wish for: particularly on a rainy day at the beach.

“What a fun place”

This isn't really a museum but it was worth the time looking at the old stuff and the stuff for sale.
