We arrived and asked to be put in the nicest room availible and were given a very dirty (garbage under the recliner, black grime and hair in the bath tub, black grime in the toliet, used sugar and creamer packets) room, that was on a very busy loud street..The room itself was hot and we had to keep the window open all night allowing all the noise inside. For 150.00$$ you would think your room would at least be clean!
I will NEVER ever again stay at a super 8.

First off, finding a hotel in Long Beach on TripAdvisor wasn't easy - it needed to be pet friendly and still have space on Memorial Day weekend... The Super 8 was one of the only places left that fit the bill. This is one of those old buildings where you listen to the conversation in the room next door and at times it seems like there's a dance hall upstairs! There was a "breakfast buffet" but even my kids wouldn't eat the stuff - a first for us!

To be fair, Long Beach is one of those coastal towns that was probably really neat in the 70's but not much has been developed since then. The down economy has really hit this area of the NW coast pretty hard, several empty storefronts and vacant buildings.

Room Tip: Stay in the N end of the building, S has a road

The location was great and you are not even a mile away from the Ocean. The rooms suite their purpose and were clean. Having the microvave and fridge was great to keep snack and light lunches. The moring breakfast was simple and nice. The service, location and value was all worth the trip.

Drapes needed more hooks & re-hung; used clothespin to keep closed. WiFi is spotty; comes & goes on 2nd floor; 3rd floor WiFi is worse. Breakfast needs more fruit; otherwise ok. Great in-room frig w/separate freezer. Good beds! Will stay there again.

We arrived around 9:45 PM, checked-in, and found that our non-smoking room stunk of smoke. The front desk kindly moved us to another room and said that this is a common problem during spring break. The other room was okay, but the carpet looked like it needed a good cleaning. The included breakfast was good, and included hot foot, except that the waffle-makers had already run out of batter by the time we got up, and no more was forthcoming. The location was great, though -- a good place to start a long run on the beach, and right next door to Marsh's Free Museum. We only spent 1 night, but the motel would've been okay for a couple more if we had the time.

Room Tip: RIght next door to Marsh's Free Museum.
