You know how when you walk into a room or you drive onto someone's property and you feel something that is welcoming and comfortable...kind of like you know you made a good choice in coming there? That is the feel you get when you turn into the Run at the River B & B.
While we only stayed in one room (the biggest and what we considered the best: Kingfisher) I did see the other rooms on-line and walked through another. Really...any room you choose would be amazing...fire place, jacuzzi, large rustically finished bed and furniture...and it goes on and on. After a fun day of Leavenworth, you actually are happy to come back to your room because it completes your day with a wonderful evening.
I'm sure you can find something cheaper, but your experience will be what you pay for. What kind of experience do you want?

Room Tip: If you have a bunch of people, rent Raven's Wood cabin. If you need a lot of space, go with Kin...

Great place to stay, quality room.
Good service.
I just really wish they will invest into a decent wi-fi soon, nice range dual band router like netgear r6300 will make me return for sure, otherwise its impossible to get a connection.

We stayed in Up the Creek for a birthday celebration at Run of the River and our stay was most enjoyable. Jan and Steve have decorated beautifully and everything was warm and cozy. We didn't get to meet Steve but Jan was so welcoming and friendly to talk to. We went on a sleigh ride which Jan arranged for us upon request. The breakfast was filling and tasty. Our room had a fabulous jacuzzi spa tub for two, a wonderful shower and beautiful views complete with bird feeder. I would definitely return. I did wish the bed was a bit more comfortable, my husband tosses and turns and I could feel every movement in the bed.

Room Tip: Up the Creek has lovely views of the mountains and river at the back of the inn. If you have proble...

We enjoyed coming last winter for our wedding anniversary that we decided to make it a tradition and stayed 3 nights this last week to enjoy not only our special day, but the beautiful town of Leavenworth and its holiday lights. We stayed in the 'Hit The Trail' suite which is the top right and overlooks the refuge and mountains to the west and had a nice layer of snow over everything making it just picturesque.

3 fantastic breakfasts which included all homemade or locally grown produce such as pumpkin pancakes, apple flan, various flavors of yogurt with granola and real fruit, baked apples..you get the idea..hearty and delicious! The attention to detail and seasonal decorations continue to impress and makes coming something to really look forward too. Jan's presence on our final morning completed the enjoyment of coming there and Fanny was bounding through the snow as we were (sadly) pulling away.

We already booked another 3 nights for next December!

Room Tip: We favor the Great Northwest as its more spacious and both can enjoy spreading out and using the lar...

Brilliant cleanness, robes de charme in the room, mantles for the fireplace armchairs. Lots of great details in the room like binoculars and a day rucksack. Cute details like a brown paper instead of a rubbish plastic bag… many antiques anyplace and, a bird feeder in the room’s balcony.

Be alert of the lady who serves breakfast, do not let her temper ruin your morning. I believe she’s the owner and when your request does not suit her taste or it is not at the right time, she will let you know. It was uncomfortable for us.

Thank you so much for your kind review.

We would also like to thank you for mentioning your WiFi experience. A log dwelling with logs as thick as ours poses a special challenge for WiFi. The moisture content of the logs goes up a bit in winter and that can impact the signal all by itself, as well as many other factors.

Due to the special problems posed by the log home, we have made a significant investment in commercial enterprise grade WiFi equipment. (We may be an oasis of calm, nestled in the aspens, but we take our connectivity seriously). You can see more about the grade of equipment we use at www.peplink.com).

We take your concern seriously and will have a professional perform a WiFi heat map survey in all of our rooms as soon as possible, to see if any problems of which we are unaware of, have cropped up.

Thank you again for staying with us. If you have difficulty on your next stay, please bring it to our attention immediately as we would prefer to address the issue straight away and while you are still onsite, so as to make your stay more enjoyable.

If you recall the excitement of going home for the holidays where you're spoiled by all the warmth and love of family around the table, you can make those same memories around the breakfast table at Run of the River. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel like you've come home. From the friendly reception at check-in, which includes a tasty homemade treat fresh from the oven, to the beautifully appointed rooms overlooking the refuge, your every need is quickly met. The views are breathtaking. Cozy is a good word to describe the leather chairs pulled up to the fireplace. This is a wonderful place to escape the pressures of life and reflect on the beauty of God's creation!

I can't think of one thing we didn't like about this B&B. The breakfast is fabulous and they have no problem catering to guests with special needs. Everything in the rooms are high quality and in just the right spot and quantity. For example I like to read in bed but often have to make a long reach or get out of bed to turn off the light at most establishments. At Run of the River they secured the on/off switch at the perfect spot to turn off the light with ease. The setting is beautiful maybe too nice because we didn't want to leave the property. They provide movies, bath beads for the whirlpool tub, bikes, snowshoes, birdseed, candles and matches, snacks in the evening, and the bathroom has heated floors which was very nice on a cold morning.

Need to find a good spot to eat in town or some sightseeing tips? They'll help you with that too.

This is a first class B&B, and I don't think you'll be disappointed staying here. Many of the guests we met have stayed multiple times and planned to return again...so do we.
