Loved the views and the company. It is outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Leavenworth - very much a plus on the busy Autumn Leaf, Oktoberfest, and other weekend activities. Good value for a nice, comfortable B&B!

Room Tip: The suites are wonderful for a couple's get away!

This pension is the best! We stayed many B&Bs and rated No.1 among them. Pretty rooms, clean living and dining rooms, gorgeous views, very nice people, reasonable prices, free hot teas, kids friendly and delicious beautiful breakfast..., everything was perfect. We'd like to come back to stay....we'll recommend our friends to visit here!

My wife and I really enjoy the owners and fellow guests at Haus Rohrbach. We have always been treated like returning friends and our conversations reflect their genuine interest in catching up. We love to lounge in the sun at pool side where we are left to our books or intimate conversation. Carol & Mike have a special knack for making sure that you get what you came for. If it's for quiet time, you'll get it. Recreation? They know just who to hook you up with and will make the necessary arrangements.

Haus Rohrbach isn't for everyone, though. It's atmosphere suites those who are looking more for the soul of a getaway. A connection. The amenities aren't over the top, but it is very comfortable and homey. We like the scheduled deserts in the evening. It reminds me of my own family's daily schedule when I was a kid. Of course, families ate moms cooking, at a given time, at the same table back then.

Thank you, Carol & Mike.

My wife and I first stayed at Haus Rohrbach over Labor Day weekend in 2002. We mountain biked all over, stayed in two of the suites, and had a great first impression of Haus Rohrbach. Since then we've been back with our family 3 times, once in the summer, once in the fall and most recently, in December. Each time was very enjoyable. The main floor area with all types of beverages, games, books, tables, chairs and couches is a perfect lounge for relaxing, visiting, playing games and snacking. We've brought our own snacks in and they have no problem with that. We usually get desserts too. Sometimes they've charged us, other times they've comped the desserts. I assume that may depend on how they're doing financially. Shoot, don't we all do the same with our own customers? Sometimes are the right times for gifts, and other times we charge fairly for the services we provide. Haus Rohrbach provides great service. It really is a family place. The only people I can imagine not liking it are the uptight yuppie d.i.n.k. types. It's a European-style pension, not the Hyatt. Enjoy it for what it is, and it is very enjoyable. I like it much better than the average bed and breakfast -- because it is somewhat larger than most B&Bs, it seems to be run more professionally -- you can be left alone if you want to, or hang in the great room and visit with the owners if you like. It's certainly easier to be left alone than most B&Bs I've been to. Very clean, good service, fair pricing, I really can't find anything negative to say about this place. Having been there 4 times, it now feels almost like you are going over to a friends house for a visit. We love this place.

We have been coming here for years, with kids and without, and this is the best place in town. Quiet, beautiful and warm in the summer. The walk to town is easy in all but Winter, when snow is on the ground. Mike and Carol are great hosts, the food is delicious, and the rooms are cozy. For the idiots that are expecting a Westin........don't come here. Don't bring your bratty kids who need to be entertained either. That's why it is called a bed and breakfast. There are no TV's or other distractions. Just the peaceful countryside. The hill behind the Pension is a great hike. The pool is perfect for a quick dip, and there is also a jacuzzi. I think the negative reviews are bogus, they must be from the competitors in town. I have stayed at Haus Rohrbach over 20 times and never had a bad experience.

We had a great time. We needed to get away to the snow for a long weekend with our 6 week old and an almost 3 year old. It was great to have the big common room downstairs so we could put our son down for a nap in our room, turn on our monitor, and go down to sit and relax, read, take in the view, or play games. The breakfast in the mornings were excellent, and the dessert was well worth the couple extra dollars they ask for; much better quality then you'd get at any restaurant in town, and definitely cheaper. Our 2 year old had a great time on the front hill sledding. The room was very clean and comfortable. All it all, the Haus Rohrbach is somewhere we hope to visit again. (we're extremely glad we didn't listen to the negitive reviews, our visit proved them wrong!)

We were a bit concerned after reading some reviews before going there. But I have to say that it was a great experience, and that we'd love to go there again in different seasons. We stayed there during the IceFest. We went there with a 15-month old baby boy. What a wonderful experience we had. The place is very family-oriented. The hosts were very nice and helpful. They prepared a highchair for our baby without us even asking. They're very accommodating. Not only the hosts were nice & friendly, but also were other guests we met. Many of them told us that they have come to this B&B for years!

We stayed in the Meadow room, which shared a bath with one other room. but we didn't have trouble with that at all. The bathroom was very clean. We loved that there's no TV or radio in the room :) Guests often gathered around the dining area. There's a beautiful view from the lodge. There's also a nice little hill (but very long) that guests can play sleigh.

The only drawback of this B&B is its location. It's about a mile from downtown. So, there's quite a long walk to shops&restaurants (if you don't want to drive).

We would definitely recommend this B&B to our friends and others.
