“Bavarian flavour in Washington State”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

This b&b maintains an excellent standard. We even got a free desert in the evening, a hot tub to soak in and the gentle tones of an alphorn outside our room. They made a small mistake with our room, but this was quickly corrected and we got an upgrade. The buffet breakfasts were delicious. Don't forget that there's a substantial tax on top of the room charge.

Room Tip: We had the Tannenbaum suite which was ample for 3 adults although little privacy if you want a bath.

Just a note to say I made recent trip with family to Leavenworth, Wa. to the Bavarian themed town of Leavenworth in the Cascade Mountains of WA., and it was beautiful. We stayed two nights at a European styled pension called Abendblume ran by a very nice couple Randy and Renee, who were very hospitable and treated us all graciously. The rooms were nicely decorated in a German themed style and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a variety of fresh fruits and delectable treats. The owners saw to our every need and were very informed about the area, letting us know what to we could see. I will definitely be back to visit in the future. Our experience was memorable and the pension reminded me of a German Ski Chalet.

Room Tip: The rooms are all beautiful and are based on the size you want. The suites are super nice with larg...

This was our second visit to Abendblume. It is truly the most romantic and scenic B and B that I've ever stayed in, and we look forward to returning next summer. The setting is stunning, yet just a few miles from town. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast is delicious. The inn is very quiet and serene. We enjoyed our long weekend getaway while our 2 kids were back home with their grandparents. I would highly recommend Abendblume!

I have now stayed at quite a few Bed & Breakfasts, and this has by far been the best experience we have ever had. Renee is the most incredible host. Her breakfasts are truly something to behold. Absolutely magnificent! I still have dreams about that big pot of french press and ebelskivers... Our other favorite part was the setting! Getting to walk out along a path of beautiful birch trees, and pet the goat next door...heaven!

We stayed in the Sleeping Beauty (Dornroschen) room. We loved the special touches, like fresh coffee every morning on the 2nd floor before we even walked downstairs, and the late-night cakes and cookies left out for when we returned in the evening. No detail of this place was overlooked, and you can truly tell how much the staff cares. It was so roomy, comfortable, and cozy. My only complaint is that we only stayed for 3 nights!!!

We stopped here for an overnight between Seattle and Coeur d'Alene. The room was excellent, the breakfast was top notch, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the grounds and surroundings. Our only negative was that we could just stay one night.

Room Tip: Our corner suite had a great wrap around balcony, and wood burning fireplace with wood in place and...

The pastoral setting of Abendblume is delightful. From the patio one overlooks meadows with the mountains in the background. It is close to town but has a wonderful rural feeling. The architecture of the house is very "Black Forest" and beautifully designed and constructed by the owners. Breakfast is expansive with a large variety of choices and if you are in luck you will get ebbleskivers, little round pancakes with apple syrup. The owners, Randy and Renee are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. We have tried three of them. It is a great place to spend the weekend.

This a lovely place with inviting music, several working fireplaces, lots of spaces to enjoy breathtaking views, and a homemade breakfast that is top notch. Renee went out of her way to accommodate a very short notice in plans that could have left me in the lurch, but not only was she understanding, she made the alternative even better. This is a place you can fall in love with and really rest up and enjoy your time in Leavenworth. I look forward to coming back.
