“Great time!”
Reviewed September 22, 2011

My wife and I did some horseback riding here for our 2 yr anniversary and had a really great time. We showed up a little early, signed in, and then walked over to where we were to meet our guide. Ron was a really genuinely nice man who made it a point to remember everyones name that was there (I believe there were six of us). There was a short wait while Ron prepared the horses and then assessed everyone's level of experience to assign us a horse that would fit each one of us the best. We did a 6 mile ride which was very relaxed and enjoyable. We felt very safe and Ron was always in the lead but made it a point to be very attentive to make sure everyone was ok and keeping up. My horse liked to try and be in the lead so I was right behind Ron the whole time. He really tried to pair couple together with horses that "liked" each other so they could be close together.
To be honest, if you are expecting A LOT of personal attention and a lot of "tour guide" stuff then this may not be for you. I feel like you have to be ok with handling the horse a little bit on your own and be ok with moments of silence and enjoying the fact you are outside and on a horse. Enjoy it, it's not something you get to do every day!

We hosted our daughter's wedding here for about 100 people and it was perfect. The accommodations are family style in large lodges with multiple bedrooms/bathrooms and large common spaces. The location in the mountains is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. The staff was attentive, responsive and helpful in every way. They prepared both the rehearsal dinner and dinner at the reception and both were delicious.

Room Tip: All rooms and lodges were equally comfortable

What an amazing place! Beautiful view of the mountains. The accommodations were relaxing, top notch and the attention to detail was much appreciated. Everything was perfect from the horseback riding with Adam and dinner at the lodge to the luxurious robes and towels to the wonderful breakfast basket at our door the next morning. We felt very special. Bill (the owner) is a great man that likes things done right and it shows. Cassie (our host) has a wonderful gift of hospitality. We loved every minute!

We found the Coleman Cottage located at Mountain Springs lodge an absolutely pleasant cabin getaway. The cottage, which is very cabin like, is located a short drive from the lodge in a quiet setting next to the River Lodge. A short hike to the river earns a private spot with a couple of lawn chairs to enjoy the river sounds, wildlife and peace.

Mark and Judy, the hosts for the cottage, are postiviely delightful and shared their knowledge of local eateries, hiking and snowshowing, which they were gracious enough to loan us for a day.

The cabin is very charming, clean and tastefully decorated; we'll definitely be back every year!

I got married at Mountain Springs Lodge in October 2009 and it was a wonderful event from start to finish. All of the staff (especially Jaimi, the wedding coordinator) was very friendly and helpful before, during, and after the wedding day. Since we were from out of town there were many emails and phone calls with questions I had and each one got answered quickly. There are several different venues to choose from on the property, each with their own personality and photo opportunities. We booked several of the on-site and off-site cabins for our friends and family to stay in during the weekend and everyone had a very good experience. The food was also a highlight since Barb did an excellent job planning and preparing our reception dinner. I am so glad we decided to with with MSL for our wedding!

After searching for many months to find the right place to hold our wedding, we found Mountain Springs Lodge, just outside of Leavenworth. We had many people coming from out of town and wanted everyone to be in the same place, but not in too much of a hotel atmosphere. MSL was PERFECT! We had everyone stay in the lodges/cabins on the grounds, so we were able to hang out with each other during the day. We brought our own food in for several meals, but the catered meal for the reception was OUTSTANDING! I've never had a better meal! And the staff was SO courteous the whole time. The chef was absolutely clear that she wanted the meal to be what WE wanted, not what she wanted.
Jaimi and the rest of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and SO great to work with. My dad kept saying how much he felt like they really stayed out of our way when they needed to, but were right there when we needed them to be.
At the last minute, we had to move our ceremony inside because it started raining. The staff couldn't have been more efficient and helpful, and it turned out being better than if we had done it outside. It was intimate and lovely.
What we wanted for our wedding was a weekend of being able to spend time with our closest friends and family - and that's what we got. It could not have been any better -- and in fact exceeded all of our expectations.
I HIGHLY recommend Mountain Springs Lodge for ANY type of event where you want people to relax and enjoy each other while staying in a beautiful and informal setting.

This was by far the best wedding venue with excellent staff, beautiful grounds, fantastic food, and one heck of a great place to party with closest of friends. Do not listen to the other poor ratings given on this place, it is undeserved. There is a reason why this place is booked for weddings a year and a half in advance. Jamie is the wedding coordinator and goes above and beyond expectations. She advised, planned, helped serve at our rehersal dinner, personally cleaned my room for our wedding night, left food in the refrigerator for us, and payed attention to all the little stuff, was on-time etc. etc. She was easy to work with, never seemed stressed out, and was there when we needed.
We had our wedding in front of the Poderosa pine lodge by the pond. Beautiful spot, great temp, and lighting was wonderful. (great place for a fall wedding). I used the carriage, which was a kick, and very well done - we even went for a carriage ride right after the ceremony to relax and have a moment to ourselves. Flowers were done by Patti at Au Naturel. She is pricey, but worth Every penny, has done many weddings there, knows her stuff. Reception was at the barn, and we added a tent (for fear of weather and to help with the cold) and it added amazing brilliance to the spot. The barn was so much fun, the dance floor was packed all night, the food was Wonderful. salmon, with scalloped potatoes, rice, great salad that the chef is known for - the cook staff paid attention to food allergies, food wants (vegetarian etc.). Hot, on-time and lots of it. Great bartender, and staff All worked hard at cleaning etc. They even let us put All of our wine and beer in their refrigerators for the entire weekend. and we had 12 cases of wine and 14 cases of beer.
We had a 150 people at our wedding, and their staff took charge and helped us put on a smashing success. Where there little problems...yes, but so minor that in the grand scheme of things, no big deal. No one is perfect. If you are a high strung your going to have problems anywhere you go. but if you want an outdoor wedding, this is the place to do it. We had amazing weather (and granted they cannot control the weather) but it was nice to have a back-up option indoors if we had to.
Lodging: the loge isn't your typical "lodge" with an individual room for everyone. Both lodges host lost of people with enough rooms for immediate family. We took the ponderosa losdge with the most rooms, and my husbands family took the Pines lodge. We had our rehersal dinner at the beaver lodge (main lodge) which was Sweet. We rocked out all night. Our room was in the beaver as well, and was fine. Huge, and we used it both nights. (first night with just the bridesmaid and bride). Beds were comfy and huge. We made breakfast as a big group both saturday and sunday mornings. Those who wanted other breakfasts went to the main lodge. After the wedding reception, lots of poeple (including bride and groom) went back to the ponderosa, and had a pizza party and continued to rock out (we brought music equipment). There is also the beaver valley lodge right down the road which has cheaper rooms (very reasonable) and can handle all of your overflow guests and younger guests.
Wrap up: This staff works hard. You have to step back and realize that weddings are not easy, and people are stressed out and difficult. They deal with all of your family problems and then some. If you want something, all you have to do is ask. This is a wonderful place and would reccomend to anyone. I would love to talk to anyone about the place if they had any questions.
