Description: This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!

Good Bavarian food with a gentleman dressed in liederhosen playing his accordian and singing, too! My husband ordered the Bavarian goulash and it was very good. Better than what I ordered, but that was just me. The only thing is that it is located in the downstairs/basement of this building and the more expensive restaurant is located in the upstairs of the building. So, no view.

The food, atmosphere and staff were excellent. The overall Germanic feel of the restaurant and the great selection of German dishes went a long way to make us feel we were back in germany

This charming place is filled with the atmosphere of Bavaria with wait staff dressed in German costumes, and an accordion player in lederhosen singing well-known songs. I had the pork schnitzel which was very good. The hot German potato salad was excellent, and our server was quite charming, especially good with the two children in our party. Everyone had good food and a great time. Altogether this was a perfect choice for all.

Are here for dinner and they were able to accommodate the party of eight fairly quickly. Great authentic German food. The menu has all the German classics and there is a good selection of German beers on tap. Customer service was very good. The special of the night was Hungarian goulash which was very good, as was the wiener schnitzel and the regular goulash.

Atmosphere was great - was there on a Saturday night and they had a live accordion player to make it feel more "German".
