We enjoyed a couple of beers on Saturday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend. The very lively owner Maureen was around moaning that she only gets to have live music a few times a year, but happily this was one of the days when a live band was scheduled. So we came back for more beer and wine and a good meal of well prepared food -- I had the salmon salad and my friend had a great bowl of mussels. All good and will be back.

The British and American food combination was very welcome, and excellent. We had the fish and chips, and English chicken pie, with salad and homemade salad cream. Started with 3 oyster shooters, which fresh - of course - and the sauce was excellent. Strongbow cider, local ales, and topped it off with a game of darts. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and we wanted to stay all day. Oh, and the trifle "laced with booze" - lovely.

We had the fish & chips. The fish was delicious but we substituted the sweet potato fries & they were overdone & pretty tasteless. One person at our table had a cheeseburger that she said was exceptional! What can I say, the beer was good & cold!!

Mo's was a last resort for dinner, as there are few casual dinner spots in Langley. Admittedly, we went there just for dinner, not for the bar. Food was pretty bland, bordering on tasteless, and overpriced for what it was. Service was cursory. It might be a fun place to go for drinks, but skip the food.

I love this place. The antique booths are superb. The beer selection is excellent and well priced. The food is good and different from your average pub fare (well for the US anyway - maybe not for that other island).
