“Great spot for a weekend get away!”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

If you're visiting Western Washington or even if you're a local, I highly recommend taking the time to explore Whidbey Island and making the lovely Inn at Langley your homebase for a night or two.

The Inn sits right at the water's edge -- most room have balconies from whih you can enjoy the view. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Great beds with fluffy down comforters, gas fireplaces and huge soaking tubs. There's even a firepit on the beachside of the property if you want to relax beachside with a glass of wine or toast s'mores! Dinner at the restaurant is a must (spendy, but worth it if you're a "foodie"). Most of the ingredients are locally sourced and the dishes are creative. Breakfasts are delicous, too.

Make sure you take the time to explore Langley, Coupeville and the surrounding countryside. Whidbey Island is just beautiful --and less than and hour from Seattle. It's a great destination!

Went for the weekend. Little town is great to walk around. Room was on the beach. The Spa was great!! the people at the in very helpful and nice.. Stayed in Room 14 Bottom floor next to beach. Nice room could have nicer beds and maybe put in a coach to sit on instead of chairs. Stay away from the breakfast there are so many more places in town that have great breakfasts. over all we had a nice time and would go back (just to do the Spa)

My wife and I decided to go to Whidby Island near Seattle because a tourbook said it was a great place to visit. We chose the Inn at Langley because it had the best rating on the island. We traveled straight from Sea-Tac on a weekday night, took the ferry and arrived about 2 hours after we left the airport. Our room at The Inn had a fantastic found of Puget Sound. It was a good room, perhaps a bit pricey, but that's only the business traveler in me. It was very comfortable, had good bedding, good heating (not needed much), free breakfast, and was in walking distance of the minimal (but just the right amount) of stores and restaurants. We visited most of the other towns on the island and were happy we stayed in Langley. It's got enough amenities to be in civilization but it's not as developed as some other places on the island. I hope we get a chance to go back so we can both get some much-deserved rest.

Room Tip: As far as we could tell, all rooms have a view of Puget Sound and have a reasonable amount of privac...

Sometimes you get what you pay for and this was one of those occasions. Wonderful ocean view (on which the sun shone, for a change, in October) from our balcony and comfortable roomy room. Fire and hot tub in the room made this a great autumnal destination. Our breakfast was delivered within 3 minutes of calling and was delicious - cheese, salmon, fruit, granola and yoghurt. Added bonus was complimentary cinema tickets to the local movie house! Langley is pretty with interesting arty shops - best shop for me was the local thrift store though (CDs and bits of lace/ribbon).
Highly recommended romantic getaway.

Room Tip: We had a roof over our terrace which is good if it is raining!

My husband and I stayed in one of the two story suites and it was amazing. Romantic, clean, and cozy. The grounds are lovely. There were two mini-fridges stocked with soda that was included in the price of the room and perfect for storing the wine we bought at one of many wineries in the area. The front desk attendant was friendly, warm, and helpful. The breakfast was delightful with fresh tomatoes, fruit, jams, and breads. We did not care for the mushy egg dish though. The only complaint we had was that we were not offered dinner reservations at the restaurant and therefore, we were NOT able to eat there. This was a little disappointing seeing that we were paying to stay at the Inn. Also, if you can avoid taking the ferry over on Friday late afternoon do so, as we waited to catch a ferry in our car for over 90 minutes!!!

I regret my late entry regarding the stay my husband and I had this past August. In any event, my husband and I have stayed here a few times over the years. The views and breezes in the summer are always heavenly and relaxing.

This past August our stay here was beyond words. Carly in the office blew us away with her generousity and quick action. Without going into too much detail, we witnessed her salvage a military familiy's monthly grocery expenses. This military family also had a special needs child.

After witnessing that event, I coudn't imagine us staying anywhere else. The owners at the Inn at Langely are truley warm and compassionate people who care about their guests and local community.
Ambiance is in the eye of the beholder but class, generousity, and big hearts can't be purchased or mistaken.

Just a quick ferry ride across the Sound and you feel as if you have escaped it all. The staff at the Inn greeted us immediately with a smile and an offering of a cup of coffee or an apple freshly picked from the tree outside. Check in was efficient and a review of the lay out of the property just what we needed to get our weekend started. The rooms were fantastic, each providing a view that melted all of your cares away. We immediately dropped our bags and headed out to our private deck, opened up a bottle of wine and watched the life of the sea carry on.

Dinner began promptly at 7 PM and was 3 1/2 hours of pure magic. My husband and I both agree that the meal that Chef Matt Costello and his team prepared was simply sublime; perhaps in our top 3 meals of all time. Every dish showcased the amazing bounty of Whidbey Island and the pairings of wine were perfectly matched. The benefit of watching the chef in action in the kitchen was also an added treat so make the effort to sit at the Chef's Table if at all possible.

A return to the room was welcomed following a beautiful meal where we enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and the view from our room while the crack of our fireplace then lulled us to sleep.

The next morning we found ourselves back in the dining room where we were not disappointed as the all-inclusive breakfast was waiting. Farm fresh eggs, pastry, yogurt, bowls of fruit, quiche, ruby red tomatoes, house-made granola, steaming pots of coffee...delicious! What a fantastic way to start your day.

Over breakfast we planned our winter getaway to return. Next time we plan on making our way to the spa and will hope to have the pleasure of dining in the restaurant yet again. If not , we know that we have an incredible room that we can sit and dream about it.
