When my boyfriend was looking through the travel guide for a last minute hotel and sug. King Oscar, I was like no way, never heard of them. But he decided to convince me to check it out. The price was lower than the travel guide listed so that was nice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It had an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna room, steam room, and work out room. The continental breakfast was A-1. The hotel was clean and large. My two 12 year old Kids stayed for no extra cost. the carpeting was clean and plush and they provided ethernet cables for in room internet at no cost. it was right off the freeway in Lacey easy off and easy onto the freeway

Highly recommend this hotel.

Made reservation by phone - quoted one price. When we got there they discounted rate another $18.00. Best value for amenities - free breakfast (including those make-it-yourself yummy waffles) indoor pool, hot tub, dry sauna, AND steam room! Our room had two comfortable queen beds, mini fridge and microwave. Very large bathroom. The most important thing for us was it was very clean. The property is right next to the freeway, but we could not hear the freeway noise. Must have double pane windows(?) Overall, we enjoyed our one night stay.

Stayed here for one night on way from California to Seattle on 21 July 08 . Motel of a chain we hadn't come across before - they seem to be confined to the Pacific Northwest. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming reception - when we wanted to use the guest laundry they gave us the soap powder for nothing. Huge clean room with king-size bed, recliner, and fridge, and free breakfast. Indoor pool & jacuzzi. All-in price of $72 we thought a bargain. Obviously caters for the convention market so we were lucky there wasn't one on. Olympia close by.

We stayed four nights (Thurs-Mon) while visiting family in the local area. This was our first time at a King Oscar property. We were impressed with our pre-stay email correspondence from the manager (Gloria) who responded to our questions timely. A rate of $62 per night was offered.

The good points were free high speed wireless Internet, a large king size room (with enough space for yoga), sofa, microwave and refrigerator and double pane windows that blocked most of the freeway noise. In the lobby free papers were offered daily and a deluxe continental breakfast (with waffles). There was also an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and small gym (no weights). In addition a guest laundry was available. Every afternoon/evening there were warm cookies available downstairs.

For $62 a night, I'd say this was a good deal if you don't mind artwork nailed to the wall, and worn and basic furnishings. We were a little worried at first (before arriving to our room) by the institutional looking interior hallway and carpeting that was taped every few feet. Budget minded travelers will be quite happy here (we're among them) and won't mind sacrificing interior beauty for a no frills room with lots of extras.

Our only negative was the room location. We were directly above a meeting/conference room. This created a problem for us Sunday morning when a church service was held. Otherwise, the room was quiet.

I'd say the best room locations do not face the freeway, are not across from the ice machine or elevator, and not in close proximity to the meeting/conference room.

We'll stay here again for sure.

  • Liked — Wireless Internet
  • Disliked — Noise from meeting/conference room
  • Tips/Secrets — Book a room away from the meeting room and freeway
