“Unexpected Treasure!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2005

We were thrilled to find the River's Edge Restaurant in the tiny quiet fishing village of La Push.

It seems that there are remarkably few good restaraunts on the west penninsula (olympic that is), But the Rivers's Edge occupies a beautiful, light filled space overlooking the ocean, owned and staffed by wonderful native people, with very decent food. The chocolate milkshake was dreamy, as was the delicious blackened fresh salmon sandwich. Try the Solduc sandwich, a grilled cheese sandwich reinvented with fresh crabmeat & shrimp. You will not be dissapointed.

“Wonderful Dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2005

We enjoyed succulent salmon dinners while watching pelicans and other sea birds glide past the window. The River's Edge, at the edge of the river where it flows into the Pacific Ocean, is not a destination restaurant. But located within the ancient Quileute fishing village of LaPush, it serves great Pacific Northwest fare and is an unexpected delight in this remote area of the Olympic Peninsula.

“Don't expect edible food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2005

The once world-class Rivers Edge Restaurant is in a boat launch building once run by the Coast Guard, with huge old wooden
beams and high ceiling. Perched on the Quillayute River, there are panoramic views of the ocean, river mouth, and islands.
A repaired 30’ cedar totem pole, originally carved by the late David Forlines, was restored by a Makah tribal member.

Unfortunately, the restaurant has been sold and the food is close to inedible, with waits up to 2 1/2 hours. Summer daily 6 am to 9
pm 41 Main St, next to the Marina. 360-374-5777.
