Description: Purple Cafe and Wine Bar pairs a global wine selection with a menu that combines classic American styles with seasonal Northwest ingredients. We feature an expansive menu ranging from artisan cheeses, starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to pasta and seafood. We take a great deal of pride in utilizing the freshest, local ingredients that change with the seasons. On the wine side of things our wine list features over 80 glass and 600 bottle selections. Over the years our wine program has been recognized with various accolades that include an "Award of Ultimate Distinction" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and being named "Best Wine Bar" by Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington Viewers Poll.

This is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while sitting outside on a nice sunny day!

“Like eating in a garage under glaring lights!”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

Truly a disappointment! The ambiance is: large, dark, crowded room with spotlights shining in your face. We ordered prix fixe meals with appetiser, entree, and desert and literally received for about $40 per meal a tablespoon full of desert, the rest was nothing to brag about. If you looking for a nice relaxing or romantic place to dine, DON'T GO HERE! It may seem like a lot of people like this place but I suspect that's because they haven't ever been to a really good restaurant.

“Good WIne and Food”

The service is always good and prices very reasonable. Lots of choices of wine by the glass. Good salads. Usually busy at peak times.

“Lots of wine choices!”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

The food is good, the service fine; but the real star here is the large wine selection. There are small plates and full dinners, some of which are great, some just okay. But if you are looking for a wine selection, you will have many choices. They are kind enough to give you a sampling of a wine before you order a glass of it. Some wines can be expensive; but a glass in most person's price range can be found . . .even if it's not their favorite. The most interesting place to sit is at the bar where you can chat with the servers about wine and where you invariably end up chatting with your neighbor (if you choose to). It's a very convenient location in Park Place Shopping Center and a good place to go before or after going to Park Place Cinemas or Kirkland Performance Center. The ambiance is very pleasant and there is a patio for summer
dining. Most of the time the experience at Purple is a good one.

“Got Wine?”
Reviewed June 6, 2012

They have nights where the wine bottles are half price so that is when we tend to go. The food is pretty good and the salted caramels are to die for!
