Anthony's has been in downtown Kirkland, Washington, for many years. It's time they updated their look and their menu. A recent visit revealed the same old disappointments. A salad that was supposed to have shrimp and blue cheese was comprised of about 60% white lettuce (ends of romaine) which in our household hits the garbage disposal -- unappealing loooking and no flavor. There may have been 5-6 shrimp on the salad and no sign of blue cheese except perhaps a scant offering in the mostly Thousand Island dressing. It's a shame when the best part of your meal is the bread and butter. We asked for olive oil for the bread and were told they had only canola oil (not good on bread!) The server was attentive enough, although when she picked up the plates she never asked how everything was. She probably already knew. There are so many better restaurants in Kirkland and they are easily found. Pass this one up.
