Good service and ambience. Dishes were good but were not particularly memorable. I enjoy bolder flavours. We had guinea fowl (crisp, tender, mild), pasta dish (ok), rabbit (too tough). The desserts were great, particularly the panna cotta. Dinner with wine about $50/person so it's pricey. Portions were small.

There is very little parking on site but they do have overflow parking in a lot near the gardens.

As always the food, service and ambiance are first rate. My complaint is that the tables are too CLOSE together. On this occasioin we were next to a party of 4, we were a 2. They were enjoying an animated conversatiuon as well they should. However, because of the closeness it was impossible for us to not hear every word. This subtracted from what was an otherwise a very enjoyable meal. I have found that because of the extensive wine list it is way better to set a price range and let your server recommend a wine.

Food is okay, average atmosphere and too expensive with small portions. This restaurant was a disappointment. I have eaten at much better restaurants. Can't think of anything else to say.

Wonderful food, best service we have ever had ashore. The food price is high but well worth it for what you get. Wine price is a little high.

We had wanted to visit this restaurant for years, but (coming from across Puget Sound) it was always much easier to go to one of the excellent restaurants near the ferry terminal in downtown Seattle. We finally made it to Cafe Juanita, and this restaurant proved to be the equal of the very best restaurants in Seattle proper. The restaurant itself is welcoming and intimate, located in a simple, single-story building. The menu is broad and varied, featuring locally sourced ingredients prepared in truly innovative ways. We loved the aperitif pairing of a wonderful blood orange martini with a melt in the mouth fois gras crostini. The sweetbreads were excellent, and the Caesar Salad was elevated by a tangy dressing and white anchovies. The braised pork cheek entree had a deep and complex preparation which truly felt perfect on a wet, blustery winter evening.
And then there is the service. I can't really say enough about the time and careful attention from our server, who paid close attention to our preferences when recommending selections. And she was spot on with everything she recommended. At the end of the evening, when we were raving over her wine recommendations, she let us know that we could buy a bottle from the restaurant -- and at a very reasonable price.
All in all, we concluded that we will be taking the car on the ferry a whole lot more in the future - and making the drive to Kirkland to experience this again.
