“Very, very good”

Excellent service and great food. Interesting specials, fresh pasta and if you happen to be there for brunch, a nice assortment of breakfast and lunch items. We have already been back several times and plan on going several more.

“Delicious food, attentive service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2013

Volterra is an Italian inspired restaurant in downtown Kirkland. The food is absolutely delicious and the service was great. I ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and lobster but I asked for a sauce from a different dish. They accommodated my request and the dish was fantastic. After dinner my friend and I sat there for another hour chatting and did not feel like we were being rushed out the door. Definitely worth a visit.

“Kirkland surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

We didn't expect to find such a great place for lunch in Kirkland. The atmosphere was inviting, the staff attentive, and the food interesting and good. We shared the Caesar salad (made the way we like it) and the crab ravioli (delicate flavors and just enough crab). Will go back when we find ourselves back in Kirkland.

“Better than Ballard?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

We recently had our first dinner at Volterra's Kirkland location and are now wondering if it is our new favorite. Their original Ballard location always delights, and the new location offers a more contemporary interior, the same excellent menu and wine selections, and really superior service. I like the layout of the Kirkland property, with deep banquettes and moody lighting that adds a little romance to the room.

As for the food, we chose several small plates to share, starting with a creamy polenta and mushroom appetizer. We share perfectly cooked scallops in a nicely-seasoned tomato sauce that elevates the typical Coquille St. Jacques recipe. Volterra has so many good choices that sharing small plates becomes a necessity. We enjoyed a slightly dry Prosecco and crisp Chardonnay with it all, and left room to share a tiramisu before calling it a night.

Our server made the evening extremely pleasant, offering genuinely friendly, relaxed service. He will definitely bring us back to Kirkland for another Volterra evening very soon.

“Really Good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

Volterra has striking decor, and their food is equally good. My favorite is the clams in wine sauce which includes a wonderful house made pasta.
