“Bland food, bad service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

My husband and I went to Le Grand Bistro on the last day of our vacation and unfortunely its ruined it. We dined outside and chose the Beef Bourguigon and Saucisses le Grand as our mains. The waiter and runner seemed completely mixed up, one would take our order and then the other come out and ask if we were ready to order. They were also slow. Saucisson was very fatty and bland, really not up to scratch and did not taste like there was much pork in it. The Bourguigon was very tasty. We ordered two coffees to end our meal but the waiter spilled mine completely over me on arrival. Everyone makes mistakes but I was disgusted to see my husbands coffee still on the bill when it came. Did they really think I was going to sit there soaked and stinking of coffee while he enjoyed his?

With such a great selection of restaurants to choose from in Kirkland I highly recommend avoiding this one.

“Staff overwhelmed?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

Our waiter, Orlando, went over the menu board with us with enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of the preparation. His wine recommendation was spot on. That's the last we saw of him until he brought the check. Someone else brought our wine, someone else brought out entre, a manager took our dessert order which another person brought then a manager brought my coffee (which I had to order twice). It all fell together somehow. Our salmon was superb and the sauce was excellent.

“Surprisingly good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2012

What a nice surprise it was to find such a good French Bistro in what is essentially a strip mall. Right across the parking lot from the Woodmark Hotel. Good food, right on the water, and Robin was a great server.

“Mouth watering scallops”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012 via mobile

Just had a wonderful lunch here. Beau, our waiter helped us pick out items he felt were especially good. We had an appetizer of bay scallops (delicious) the soup of the day, and the mussels entree. For dessert we had the sticky pudding with Carmel sauce. Really enjoyed our meal and the nice view of the boats! Also appreciated the very good service.

“Went there for the Muscles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2012

It's the Moules Frites, and they were steamed to perfection in white wine with garlic, bacon and a bit of cream. The serving was huge too. And make sure you get a table with a water view, or at least facing outward. It was a perfect mid afternoon late lunch with an out - of - town guest.
