“Nice upscale grill.”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

Warm atmosphere with wood and brass. Street views in the middle of the Woodinville hub. Friendly prompt service. Clean restrooms. The menu has a good variety of selection with different kinds of fish as opposed to the same fish in different dishes! Mahi mahi tacos are a good bet. Fresh and well prepared with a flavorful spice.

“Expect Denny's with Seafood. Save your money for somewhere else!”
Reviewed February 27, 2012

Our service in the dining room was Atrocious. The server, who never once introduced himself, met us when we entered the restaurant and said "Are you eating in here?" We assumed he meant the dining room(which is what we wanted) and said yes. He then rushed us through our order and seemed annoyed that we did not want our appetizer and salad served at the same time. All of this when the dining room was maybe at 20% capacity.

Keep in mind we had ordered the appetizer before we even placed our entree and salad order so we were surprised they came together. If we had wanted to eat at Burgermaster, then we would have gone there.

Entrees:
The Paella was tasteless although it was hot. I daresay from coming from some microwave located in the kitchen..My wife's Sturgeon medallions were the winner of our two dishes. We would have that again.

The bartenders in the lounge are knowledgeable and informative not only about the spirits served but about the local area. We visited the lounge after dinner for a nightcap.

All in all "Big Fish" was a big disappointment.

“New Name, Delightful Restaurant”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

The Big Fish Grill is the newest incarnation of the old Newport Bay chain outpost in Kirkland. The service is very friendly if a little slow. This is a neighbourhood favourite for folks who live on the Eastside. Our meal was outstanding. The halibut fish and chips were perfectly prepared, the fries crispy and the portions exactly right. One of our party asked for the halibut cheeks with twice the rice and no vegetables; he got twice the vegetables and no rice, but they quickly corrected the error. Don't order the banana split unless you are attempting to regain weight after being in a coma; it is as big as your head!

“Basic, Popular with Locals ~~”
Reviewed February 10, 2012

Same ownership as when it was the Newport Bay, but reworked menu. Popular happy hour especially, with succulent food items offered at bargain prices. Has been a destination for Bellevue/
Kirkland locals for years. Suggest you stick with the wine or
beer, however, as mixed drinks small and weak.
Free parking in large lot.
