“Best place to stay near the airport”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

My wife and I recently stayed at the TownePlace Suites in Kent, Washington. We have stayed here before, and on this occasion chose their park stay and fly option. They have a van shuttle which runs on the hour to SeaTac. It's a little further from the airport than most of the SeaTac hotels, but well worth the extra bit of time it takes to get there. From the park stay and fly standpoint, they give you 2 free weeks of parking instead of the usual 1 that most other airport hotels do, and, thereafter, the charge is only $5 a day.
In our opinion the hotel is superior. The rooms, as the title implies are suites; very roomy- very clean and comfortable. The standard included breakfast fare is better than in most hotels, with a variety of choices and good coffee. The breakfast room which is part of the lobby is very cozy with a fire going, ( in winter ).
Apparently, from Mon to Wed, they also include a buffet style dinner with regional wines and beers included. We have been there on those nights, and there was definitely no need to go out for dinner afterwards- a real bonus. I'm not quite sure why they do this only on select nights, and, hopefully they will expand this offering to the full week. Having stayed there over a few years, I have never quite understood their rate structures, which vary considerably from day to day, and from season to season. The best thing to do is to check their rates before booking to see if the tariff fits into your budget. However, when you consider the free parking ( for park sleep and fly ), and food options, most of the time this hotel seems to be a good deal.
All personnel are always very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: In my opinion the best airport hotel to stay at. Just check the rates, which, as I said can vary co...

Hello, JEankin.

Thank you very much for your fantastic review of TownePlace Suites by Marriott! I might be a little biased but I fully agree with your wonderful assessment of our hotel. The TownePlace Suites is a perfect option for a pre- or post- flight stay, with SeaTac Airport just a few miles away. As with all hotels, our nightly rates fluctuate, however our Park & Fly package is consistently more cost effective and convenient when compared with other options.

Please stop in and say hello during your next trip through Seattle.

Happy New Year!

Convenient location 10 miles south of downtown, less than a mile to the big new mall with everything. Simple but adequate furnishings, kitchen with big fridge/cooktop/microwave. Breakfast buffet is standard pre-cooked fare and adequate. Our unit was clean and in good condition, this is a good 2.5star choice, no complaints and good value.

Room Tip: second floor away from pool will be quieter

We stayed there while waiting for our home to be ready. It's a very nice, clean hotel. The staff is nice and welcoming. Parking gets a little limited if you're a night owl and the place sells out. The rooms are nicely appointed but small and get cramped when the pull-out bed is out. Also, if traveling with small children, be sure to ask for a bath tub at arrival if you need it. My kids don't take showers yet :). I liked the place and would stay there again. The breakfast is lacking though. It's a nudge over continental and that's it. There's only 2 hot selections and a very limited amount of food. No waffle maker (which I thought was a staple at hotels by now). I'd rate that as below average while everything else was at or above. I would recommend to a friend or coworker, but you might want to bring something along for breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a tub if you have small children.

Nice location near southcenter mall, IKEA, ten minutes from Sea-Tac airport and a Starbucks right next door. Set up with kitchen, refrigerator, microwave which is nice. Outdoor entrances to each room (picture apartments, which this place reminded me of). Morning breakfast offered (we did not partake). It is functional, nohing special, units nice and clean. Good value for the price of a room.

Stay here for bussines for 5 days. I was greet by a very nice lady and have a quick check in. The room I got was on the second floor. No elevator, door open to the street. I have to drag my lugage up stairs. The room is comfortable, with a full size kitchen. Nothing special. They have a manager special on Monday through Wednesday. The food are decent. Breakfast was ok. Have rice and rice sesame seasoning with seaweed. This is the first time I saw breakfast jncluding rice. I guess it is because of high demand from their asian client which rice is the staple food. Another positive from this hotel is they provide shuttle service to the nearby mall and light rail by the airport. You csn catch the light rail to go to downtown Seattle for only $ 5.50 round trip. From downtown you can catch monorail for $4.50 roundtrip to space needle. The hotel location in accross from Starbuck and a lot of restaurant nearby. Costco is 0.5 miles away and the hotel let you use a pass to go in. I think this hotel service is very good. I will stay here again.

Good hotel and very comfortable. Cheaper than in downtown Seattle. Also close to the airport.
Restaurants and shopping males are close (3-5min by car).
If the weather is good, the pool might also be nice to use. Just remember to put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door.... :-)
We went to a Seahawk game and the location of the hotel is quite comfortable as the stadium is also in south Seattle area.
