The property is very nice. It is close to the traffic noise of I-90 , but then the wind changes and you hear the water features and the river. The treehouse we stayed in was "The Trillium", a 2 story place with a spiral staircase to the front door. Beautiful architecture and carpentry.
The drawbacks of the place was no info in advance and minimalist info once there. No one was there when we arrived. The house sitter and carpenter came up from swimming in the river, shortly after we arrived & announce that they lived there. They didn't know which tree house was ours & couldn't reach the owner. Luckily, the next guest had been told the name of their house & so then she was able to figure it out. She said "make yourself at home in your tree house"--which would be great if they had the necessary supplies. I went back later to ask about extra towels and lack of toilet paper for the shared bathroom but the girl (if she said her name we didn't hear it) was gone again. Shortly she did drive up and got towels and put 1 roll of t.p in the bathroom. I could go on with the small details, such as the hot tub she says that never gets used (water looked low and floating things around the perimeter of the water made me uncertain whether it was maintained so we didn't use it either). The main house had a sitting area with fireplace and DVD player but it did feel like intruding on the house sitters space. On the outbuilding "staff only" made it unclear whether it would be okay to use the table with deck heaters at the other end of that building. Could we build fires in the fire pits on the beach? Was there kindling or matches somewhere? Is the 2 man raft leaning against a building for guests? We are not needy people and enjoy privacy, but it just could have been a much better time if we knew what to expect and what to bring. And then the breakfast was help yourself to home made granola out of a jar and coffee--no napkins, no fruit, no toast--no frills for $200/ night? You decide....
