“Nice to go and see”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

You can see the Seattle skyline for Lake Sammamish. I saw some paddleboarders there. There wasn't much to do. I took a few photo ops enjoyed the sites and then it was time to go.

“could be so much better”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

I know state parks have been hurt by budget cuts but this park could be so much better. Then in their feeble attempt to make up some of the money they zing you for boat launching, parking and "breathing the air".

“OMG $17 to launch and park!”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Boat launch options on Lake Sammamish are extremely limited. I've been launching from Lake Sammamish State Park designated boat launch facilty for several years. There were things about the launch that I could easily overlook when the fee was only $5. Such as very narrow launch ramps with cracks large enough to swallow a live Teva, dusty parking areas, small haul out area, etc. For $17 I would hope for more but don't expect to see it. Was there on a nice Thurday afternoon and at 4:00 p.m. there were exactly 6 boat trailers in the parking lot. I know the state parks are hurting for funds but driving away boaters is not the answer IMHO. I've been there on other days when there were over 100 boat trailers, each contributing $7 toward the parks. The math doesn't add up. Wish there were other options... The launch on Mercer Island for Lake WA is only $11 - what a bargain! Safe boating!

“Good large park but high entry fee and stones in beach are a turn-off”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

This is a good large park with a lot of space for picnicking and a good playground for kids. It is a good place to relax and also enjoy some fun beach activities. There is food on location and the bathroom facilities are mostly clean.

However, there are quite a few negatives as well. The beach area doesn't have any trees nearby and hence there is no protection from the sun. There are a lot of small stones/ pebbles which hurt your feet if you walk into the water. Due to the above issues, the $10 entry fee seems like a rip-off.

“Basic Beach State Park But Safety Concerns”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

The beach was not great. Lots of weeds, and major roped off sink holes in the water which worried me about safety for kids. Even adults had a hard time walking into the water. Very slimy muddy bottom so wear your watershoes for sure. Nice playground and a little paved bike trail. Lots of big groups with religious gatherings and water baptisms on the day we went (Saturday) but there seemed to be plenty of room for everyone. Kayak rentals are available at the far end of the park. Parking seemed ample and bathrooms were sufficiently clean. Pay to get in. Overall, it was OK for the park portion, but due to the really poor swimming conditions I wouldn't bother to go again. Try another beach on this lake or Lake Washington instead.
